Description
Gai and Lynd are brother and sister stuck on a floating port called Hop. Their Pa was able to escape, but only under mysterious circumstances.
Lynd was never the same after Pa left. It’s when she developed a strange power to destroy objects around her, magic that only breaks things apart. Just when Lynd thinks she knows a way to find Pa, she disappears too.
Gai only wanted to fix Lynd. He felt guilt for not being able to help her after Pa left. When the ship that Pa left on comes back with clues, Gai begins to understand he has a power as well — a creative and bonding magic called Elix. He resolves to find Lynd and Pa, and bring his family back together.
Through her destructive power, Lynd seems to have broken space itself, and has ended up on an unknown beach. She’s also lost her memory. She’s taken in by the Commandress of Carpè, the leader of a beautiful city and the Myracles Akademy. Lynd is allowed to study at the Akademy to learn how to get her memory back and about her destructive power, called Ruin.
On their separate journeys, both Gai and Lynd learn what happen to their Pa — Ruin leads to becoming a dangerous monster of endless, unstoppable destruction called a Void. Their Pa is going to destroy the world. Who’s powers will end the threat? Creation or destruction?
It will be up to Lynd to overcome her own Ruin or let everything fall to pieces.
