Making Memories is a beautifully illustrated book to help children make time to find ways to get in touch with their own thoughts and be able to express them in an exploratory way. The creative illustrations are a vibrant combination of watercolor and collage and offer inspiration for children to find their own style and method of illustration. This would be a wonderful book for any child needing an outlet or who wants to develop their artistic expressions.
First, I fell in love with the cover. Then, I fell in love with the full pages of color, the creative descriptions, the examples, and the easy instructions. I love that there are books coming out for kids that focus on art journaling and the many ways to do so. Additionally, I like that these books talk about the benefits of keeping an art journal in language that kids will understand. Of these books, Making Memories is one of the better ones.
Fun, Colorful, vibrant and wonderful book. Each page is filled with ideas and everything is beautifully illustrated. It would be an awesome gift to kids starting out with journaling or even adults who love illustrated books. Each page is presented in an awesome creative way. Enjoyed reading and taking in all the illustrations.
I loved everything about this book from the colorful cover to the just as colorful inside. I think this is a wonderful book for children of all ages and backgrounds to encourage them to listen to themselves and their inner thoughts.
"Making Memories" is a beautiful book, with the DK sparkle that is engaging, interesting, and educational. I love how the concepts are broken down in a way that seems like a conversation instead of just facts, which kids can connect with. Colourful and comforting, I can see this being a treasured resource that you can revisit time and time again. Thank you NetGalley and DK for this ARC, all opinions are my own.
As someone who journals themselves I wanted to read this book to get some new creative ideas. I've recently turned my bland journal into a colorful mix of bullet journaling and scrapbooking and it has made a world of difference. I'm more excited to journal now and honestly it's a lot of fun mixing ideas. I think this is a great book for kids to learn how to journal and be creative. Journaling is very important for expressing emotions you usually keep hidden and because of that it is an important tool for children to learn about when they don't know how to express themselves.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
