Description

The Pequod's Coffin is a comedic indictment of greed and the baser elements of American culture. Ishmael Stockton, named by his father after the narrator of Moby Dick (though he has never read it), finds himself swept by circumstance into working for a vast, faceless hospital patient financing corporation. Idiotic bureaucracy, outsourcing to India, and mindless regulations conspire to turn what should be a dream life into a nightmare. A ridiculously incompetent boss, an understanding wife, and a lifelong friend who is the Queequeg to Ishmael's well... Ishmael, are just a few of the hilarious cast of characters who drive the mayhem onward. When a cult leader steals one of Ishmael's business cards from his briefcase on a flight from Portland to Denver, all hell breaks loose. His life spirals out of control and just as Ishmael contemplates going on a cross-country crime spree, redemption is delivered from a surprising source. Anyone who has ever encountered the wrong kind of job challenges, had conflict with their boss, or felt crushed by the machine will relate to this story - full of crazy characters, bizarre circumstances, and hilarious situations.
