I truly enjoyed The Serial Killer's Wife!
When I seen The Serial Killer’s Daughter, I had to get my little fingers on a copy!

Alice Hunter has done it again with another one of her binge-worthy suspense thrillers!
The Serial Killer’s Daughter is a tense, taut thriller that pulls you along with it right to the last page.
I loved this book. Once I picked this novel up I didn’t put it down. Read in one sitting.
Not one moment did this book slow down to allow you to catch your breath.
The twist at the ending is so cleverly written that I was left thinking about it for a long time after.
Such an addictive read!

I received an advanced reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review

This one was a slower burn than the first, and a bit less “psychological,” but I still enjoyed it. The interviews between the killers were great fun. I lol forward to where the author will go next.

3.5 rounded up

It started of slow but the pacing increased as the tension in the plot increased. It was intense, gripping, twisty and unpredictable, I loved it.

I thought The Serial Killer's Wife was a brilliant read and looked forward to her next title. How clever to come up with the idea for this one.
Really enjoyed the the telling of the story through Jenny and was gripped from the start.
Great characters ( even the badies ! ) and a fantastic conclusion .
Alice Hunter you've done it again.

Alice Hunter is a genius!! Stand up and take a bow because you are truly amazing!! Wow what a book!!! I’m unsure where to start with this one, I definitely don’t know how a written review will do this justice.

We are introduced to Jenny, a local vet and member of the community. Only, it becomes evident that Jenny has secrets, even from her husband. Hunter fans will know a little about Jenny from the previous book. Jenny is the daughter of a serial killer.

This is a book filled with twists and turns. I have devoured page after page. The tension builds and you can’t help but be desperate to know how this plays out. There are characters you cannot help but be suspicious of- my suspicions were definitely directed at the wrong characters.

This has been completely unpredictable and OMG THAT ENDING!!!! I need more!! I’m really hoping that there is more to come because Hunter cannot leave it like that! I’ve literally been like “nooooo”

There are a number of elements to this book- the nightmares and black outs Jenny experiences due to her past. The secrets she has kept as well as the automatic- guilty by association. Hunter has created a literary gem and this is a masterpiece.

This moves at the perfect pace, we are fed enough information to crave more detail and feel the tension as you work through the pages. The book is written in a way that transports you, you feel connected to the characters and as though you are there.

Hunter is definitely an author to watch out for and is automatically on my must buy list. I will 100% be recommending this masterpiece. I cannot say anything negative about it.

I enjoyed the first book by this author so I was looking forward to reading this one.

Jen appears to have it all, great marriage, lovely family, perfect job but underneath the surface, her life is slightly out of sync. When a local woman goes missing and dead animals are left on Jen’s doorstep, it brings back horrific childhood memories. But Jen has never told anyone about her family’s past secrets, so who has discovered who she is and who can she trust?

A suspenseful thriller which was an easy read.

Jenny is horrified when a woman is taken off the streets - that sort of thing never happens here. The crime is chillingly similar to that committed by her serial killer father... but she's not her father's daughter, is she?

A thrilling sequel that keeps you turning the pages. Gripping and exciting. Recommended.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of the book in return for my honest feedback.

I was totally gripped from the first page to the last, suspicious of everyone and everything. A tense, faced paced thriller that will keep you up at night.

This is the first book that I have read by this author. I didn't know this book was the second in a series so my review is based on this book alone and without any information that may have been given in the first book. To start, I liked this author's writing style. The book was told from a few different perspectives (Jenny's, Mark's, letters between Jenny and her dad, the bad guy's, etc) but it was easy to follow. The suspense was there throughout. While I didn't really see the ending coming, it made sense when the explanations were all given. 3.5 - 4 stars.

Alice Hunters first book The Serial Killers Wife was a surprise top read for me last year so I was very excited to get an ARC of her second novel. Though I think the first one intrigued me a little more this one definitely did not disappoint. Like her first this book is full of twists and red herrings that finally when you think you have an idea of who done it a twist will flip it all around. I love the short chapters altering different points of view of Jenny, Mark and a unidentified third person. You know the writing is good when you go from loving to hating a character in one chapter while second guessing if they are innocent or not. Definitely recommend this one for a suspenseful, entertaining quick read. Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I was given this book by NetGalley for an honest review - -
If your dad was a serial killer do you inherit his genes? Jenny, unknown to others is the serial killers daughter. She is a vet in the town of Devon. Because of her young life she has nightmares and blackouts. ... so when a young woman is taken from Devon she begins to question if she is following her fathers footsteps - - or - - - who took the woman?

This was a gripping book that kept up the suspense right till the end! I was a little worried whether I'd be able to follow this book as I hadn't read The Serial Killer's Wife but this isn't exactly a sequel even if it's set in the same universe, so other readers like me will have no problem reading and enjoying The Serial Killer's Daughter. Jenny, a local veteranian, mom, married to Mark, suffers from night terrors and occasional blackouts. She's not had the easiest childhood, her dad being a serial killer, and her mom not being great, but Jenny's worked hard to move on and she just wants a normal, happy life. All that is jeopardized when Jenny wakes from one of her blackouts with dirt under her nails, and later realizes a local woman who Jenny doesn't get on with has gone missing that same night. The thrills and suspense kept me on the edge of my seat and I was genuinely surprised at some of the twists in this book. Following Jenny as she tries to make sense of what's happened and whether she's following in her dad's footsteps is nervewracking in the best way, and I read this book really quickly because I had to know the ending.

Great follow up to The Serial Killer’s Wife, although not necessary to read the first one.
Jennifer is prone to blackouts and wandering, worse when she is stressed. And her husband has really stressed her recently.
When a local woman with ties to their family goes missing, does Jennifer’s black outs and muddy clothes have something to do with it? Or is it her secret family she has kept hidden from those in her life?

Just like The Serial Killer's wife I had difficulty doing anything other than reading this book once I had started it!

The characters are interesting and each twist, as they develop, brings out more reasons to keep reading to find out exactly where this ride will lead. As with the first book, I really didn't see the ending coming until it started to unravel and even then, there was a surprise included!

With how much I have enjoyed these books, I have to now add Alice Hunter to my list of authors that I automatically buy any new books from, they both really have been that good!

Thank you for the ARC, closer to the release date I will put some posts on Social media about this too.

Having enjoyed the authors previous work ‘The Serial Killer’s Wife’ I was excited to receive #TheSerialKillersDaughter and I was not disappointed!

I read this in one sitting. It was fast paced and had lots of red herrings to keep me guessing. I can’t wait to see what Alice Hunter comes up with next. The serial killer’s mother, anyone?

Thank you to the publisher and #NetGalley for my free advance copy in return for an unbiased review.

What a thrilling read. Kept me guessing who the guilty person was. Jenny didn't have a great childhood as her father went to prison for a very long time and she has never told anyone the truth as she worries that they will think that she has his evil genes.
A local woman has gone missing and Jenny is worried as she has been having more blackouts lately and she doesn't know where she disappears too. But would she really have done anything like that? Her husband Mark is worried about her and he knows that she is hiding something. But could she really have anything to do with the missing woman? He knows that she has reason to dislike the woman as he broke his vows.
Is Jenny losing her mind as she has started to find dead animals that have been left for her but could it be someone from her past? Is it her insane mother that wants to keep trying to destroy her life?
Mark is about to do something that will change everything it and not in the best way. Jenny is destroyed but she isn't willing to go without a fight. She knows that she can find the answers that everyone is looking for but at what cost?
A great thrilling read. We all have family secrets but Jenny's is so dark. Her father really messed with her mind I am surprised that she is still so normal. Did not like Mark he was too weak for Jenny he needed to trust her more yes she wasn't completely honest but what he did was so wrong.
So many interesting characters they each added to the storyline and just when I thought that I knew who it was it wasn't.
I received an ARC copy from Netgalley & the publisher Avon. The above is my voluntary honest review

Brilliant book. Well written with great characters and so many twists and turns. So worth the read. Absolutely kept me rapt right to the end. Loved it.

Thank you NetGalley for my ARC. These opinions are honest and my own.

Meet Jenny. Local vet. Add into the mix, her husband Mark.Put them together in a sleepy Devon village.
Meet Olivia who goes missing after walking home from the pub. Now the games afoot. What happened to her?

Jenny is worried she will be a suspect as her husband has an affair with Olivia. Mark is worried as Jenny has blackouts and sleepwalks. The village is worried it will happen to someone else. Jenny has a past that she has not shared with her husband. Do letters from her father help her understand that past?

The book was a beauty. I just LOVED it. It was written in alternate chapters between Jenny and Mark, so almost felt like a conversation as opposed to a book. Several twists and questions arose throughout leaving me, not ready for the end. I’ll admit, I didn’t see that coming.
It was, what I term, an easy read. I finished it in 2 days. It was a pleasure to read. My list of preferred authors now gathering new names.

Thank you for a superb read.

I loved the Serial Killers Wife and was very eager to read this next book. Alice Hunter has a wonderful way of bringing her characters to life and that with a very engaging plot makes this another winner in my eyes. A woman disappears and it just happens that this woman had had an affair with her husband, was she now a suspect? This really is the heart of the story and Jenny sets off to find out the truth about what happened. This is a fast paced book with a great storyline that had me gripped to the pages and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The ending was also very satisfying and wrapped everything up nicely. As soon as I see another book by Alice I will purchasing it regardless of what it is about, I know she will not let me down. Highly recommended.

thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a copy of the book in return for an opinion that is purely mine.

An enjoyable read from Alice Hunter. Jenny has made a new life leaving her past behind. Her husband has never met her parents with good reason - her father is an infamous serial killer. When a local woman (who her husband has had an affair with) goes missing, suspicion soon falls on Jenny. With similarities to her fathers’ modus operandi is she really her fathers’ daughter in more ways than one? A twist at the end kept me guessing too.

Thank you NetGalley and Avon Books UK for the copy of The Serial Killer’s Daughter. Wow this was a good, fast read! Fast because I wanted to keep reading to find out what happened to Olivia. Who did it? I suspected almost everyone at some point, because the book was so well-written and the characters were so well-drawn. The story was intriguing and did a good job of keeping me guessing until the end. I’m fascinated about Ella’s story and wonder if she will get her own book someday. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a serial killer book that will keep them guessing with a minimum of gore!

I read The Serial Killer’s Husband so I was really looking forward to reading this one.

It follows the story of Jenny, a local vet who is hiding a big secret. Her dad is a serial killer and she’s started a new life away from her terrible childhood.

But when a local woman goes missing in her tiny village, one who does not get along with Jenny, it causes a lot of upset and concern.

Things start to unravel for Jenny, who is concerned that she will become chief suspect and have her past revealed.

Who knows Jenny’s secret? Who is responsible for the missing woman and what role does her husband have in all of this?

It’s a gripping story and one that I couldn’t put down.

I’ll start by saying I haven’t heard of the first book in this series, The Serial Killer’s Wife, but will be trying to find it now that I’ve read this book. I loved this book and it was the kind where you know things aren’t quite adding up but your not sure how they’re meant to add up. The story flowed well and the main characters were interesting while also intriguing and not too crazy that you didn’t want to find out what actually happened.

Just finished this last night, what a story. Jenny has a terrible secret that she has told no one, not even her husband. When dead animals keep being left on her doorstep she feels she is losing it,. Is she doing it without knowing or someone that has found out her dark secret.
When a young woman goes missing from the village suspicion starts to fall on her. Can she prove she is innocent or will her past put an end to that.
I loved this book from start to finish. I would highly recommend.

This is a fast paced, dark and gritty story that grips the reader’s attention. It was a whirlwind of chaos, twists and turns.

Jenny works as a vet in the sleepy village of Devon. She lives in the countryside with her husband Mark and their 2 children. A perfectly nice family right? But everyone has secrets they want to keep hidden. Jenny is the daughter of a prolific serial killer father and a control freak mother.
When a woman goes missing in their quiet little village, Jenny is scared. But what if she becomes a suspect? The missing woman Olivia is a woman her husband has had an affair with and her secret is out. On top of that Jenny keeps finding dead animals on her doorstep. What can make this any worse…??... She keeps blacking out and losing time and memory.

Is Jenny her father’s daughter? Does murder fun in the family?

I feel this book was cleverly done. Especially since the crime was similar to her father’s crimes. Is it a copycat or can someone be trying to get away with murder by using Jen?

I feel if you enjoy the t.v show the Prodigal Son you would enjoy this book as well. I have been reading thrillers and mysteries for as long as I can remember so I have a habit of puzzling the events and clues together. But I praise the author by throwing curve balls here and there to try and keep the readers from figuring it out too early. Completely engaged until the end. A good read.

Jenny and Mark live in a sleepy Devon village and are shocked to hear a school mum acquaintance has gone missing from her home one night. The same night Jenny woke from one of her black out episodes with muddy pjs. Told from Jenny and Marks perspective, this book builds up the tension and plot. Dead animals keep getting left at the house that Jenny disposes off, as the bag containing the carcass also had a butterfly attached. Innocent enough except Jenny harbours a secret about her past and is sure it is about to be discovered.
I loved this book, not predictable and had some unusual twists. I was spurring Jenny on throughout this book, without giving too much away! Top read!

What an unputdownable thriller!!! Following on from The Serial Killer’s Wife, we witness how the little girls life unfolds through adulthood and the family secrets that spring to the surface.

I would say that this could be read as a standalone too but the extra knowledge from the previous book kept me rapidly reading to find out snippets of information that I remembered.

I’ve been in a major reading slump for a year but this has pulled me right out of it. Every spare moment I had, I was reading this and staying up to the early hours.

TW: graphic animal death, descriptions of dead bodies, serial killer.

Thank you for the review copy! I can’t wait to handsel this in work alongside Book 1!

This is definitely another hit book for Alice Hunter keeping inline with the seriel killer theme. Jenny is a mother, and wife with a dark past that she's kept hidden'- she's the daughter of a now imprisoned seriel killer. Jenny suffers from blackouts when she cannot remember where she's been or what she's done. The story centers around the disappearance of a local lady who just happened to have any affair with Jenny's husband. Is history repeating itself? Is she her father's daughter after all?
This is a tense, dark and fast paced book. I was left full of questions and desperately seeking answers and those were some serious revelations in the end!

I loved The Serial Killer’s Wife; it was one of my favorite books last year. I loved The Serial Killer’s Daughter just as much, maybe even more. The main character, Jenny, is a small-town veterinarian with a traumatic past, raised by a serial killer father who made her witness some things that young children should definitely not witness. Now a young woman has gone missing in Jenny’s town, and Jenny begins to fear that she has abducted the woman herself during one of her nighttime blackouts. The story takes off from there, devious and twisted, with Jenny suspecting her husband of the abduction. I love the author’s writing style, which gives us access to all of Jenny’s confused emotions, self-doubt, and desperate drive to find out the truth. I stayed up til three in the morning to find out what really happened. Now I’m hoping there will be another novel in the series, The Serial Killer’s Granddaughter!

Does murder and evil run in the family? Jenny has changed her name and distanced herself from her past, of having a serial killer father and controlling mother. She’s now a wife, mother and vet. No one knows her secret past though and then a woman goes missing. But not just any woman, the one who her husband has had an affair with. Jenny worries she will be the main suspect…which makes sense due to the dead animals she keeps finding and her blackouts.

This is an engaging book that really keeps you guessing with the curves and twists that are thrown in. We go along with Jenny to figure out if it is her or someone trying to frame her. There’s never a dull moment and what you think may not be it at all.

I highly recommend this book as well as The Serial killers wife.

WOW

I really enjoyed The Serial Killers wife, so I was so grateful to receive a copy of the next in the series The Serial Killers daughter.
Jenny has managed to recover from the traumatic childhood she had and grow up and become a vet in a sleepy village in Devon. Where she lives with her husband Mark and their two children. Jenny hasn’t told her husband who her father is. She is the daughter of Paul Slater better known as the The Painted lady Killer.
Jenny and Mark and shocked to find out one of the school Mums Olivia has gone missing one night on the easy home from a night out. The same night that she has a blackout and wakes up with her PJ. s covered in mud. Olivia had an affair with her husband Mark, but they got back together again. Jenny has had several blackouts and does not remember what happens the next day, so she wonders has she got anything to do with Oliva’s disappearance and she keeps doubting herself. And questions if she is responsible when she finds dead animals on her doorstep in plastic bags. Or is she going out of her mind.
Thank you, Avon, for a copy of this book. I did enjoy this unique story of Jenny. It has several points of view and full of tension. But I did find it a bit slow in parts and only fully invested in it about the last third of the book. 4 stars from me.

Jen thought she'd managed to put her childhood behind her, a successful vet with a happy marriage and 2 children life is going well. A brief affair her husband had last year rocked her world for a while but they have been making amends and all seems to be on track. Until Olivia goes missing and Jen's blackouts start up at the same time. Strange things start happening and Jen thinks she's losing her mind. Is the glimpse from the past affecting Jen's future
This was a slower burn than Alice Hunters first book but enjoyable nonetheless. There was enough intruige for the reader to be invested in the story.

This is my second read by Alice Hunter and I loved it (just not as much as The Serial Killers Wife) but nonetheless, it was a fabulous read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

We meet Jane, a vet in a sleep little village with a very secret history that even her husband does not know....yet. Mysterious packages are left on their doorstep - which Jane finds and hides from Mark and she feels that someone out there has found out who she is.

Jane seemingly has it all, a lovely home, two beautiful kids and married to Mark - but things are not what they appear. Jane has black outs at night, sleep walks and wakes up in different various rooms in her home. It transpires that Jane is not just "Jane", she used to be "Jennifer" and her dad was a serial killer.

When a woman - Olivia goes missing one night, the sleepy village is in shock. All members of the village are interviewed in order to try and find Olivia. Jane is worried as she hears Mark mention to his friend that the evening of Olivia's disappearance, Jane had one of her sleepwalking incidents and had mud on her PJs.

There are many things that happen during this book and Jane is paranoid that she may actually have hurt Olivia so she is desperate to find out what happens when she has a blackout. It is not long before suspicion falls onto Janes and the novel goes full throttle.

If you enjoy a fast paced read with lots of twists and turns then do grab a copy of this novel.

Thanks to the publishers, NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me a copy of this novel.

“Our worries and questions will eat away at us if we keep them buried. Like poison waiting to claim a victim.”

Jenny has spent years escaping her troubled past. Being the daughter of a serial killer has left her traumatized to the extent that she periodically blacks out and has no memory of where she has been or what she has done. So, when a local woman turns up missing on the same night as one of her black outs, Jenny begins to worry what she might have done…especially when the woman in question had an affair with her husband. Will Jenny be able to unlock the secrets in her mind before the police discover her true identity? After all she’s “the daughter of a serial killer. Doesn’t murder run in the blood?”

When I first saw the title, thought it was a sequel to the first book by this author, The Serial Killer’s Wife. It is not. This is another twisty tale of a family and how the evil of one affects all the lives around them. While I guessed who the killer was, still found this to be an enjoyable read and would recommend to fans of this genre!
