Description
For nearly a quarter of a century Ann Jackson searched for her mother’s murderer. Now, just when she thinks she might have found him, the hunter becomes the hunted.
Ann Jackson recently graduated from law school. Immediately after passing the bar exam, she found a job practicing law with an older, highly experienced attorney, which, for her, was a dream come true.
Now, if she could just silence the dreams—the nightmares she had experienced weekly since she was five years old—the night she watched through a thin space between the closet door frame and the door, as an unknown assailant murdered her mother.
She had done all she could during the past twenty years to determine who had committed the crime that left her without a mother. But now, just as she believes she has found him, suddenly the tables are turned—he becomes the hunter, and she, the hunted.

Wow! Great book! I usually like my mystery books that are at the edge of your seat heart pounding moments! While this book did have suspense, intrigue, and great detective work and a great who done it, it wasn't really a heart pounder lol but the storyline was so Interesting and intriguing it kept me invested from page one till the end! I truly loved thus book! It was a great read! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me! I highly recommend reading this book! I look forward to more from this author!
I really enjoyed this book it was well written with a thrilling storyline that was full of subtle mystery and suspense and well developed characters that were relatable.
I am drawn to mysteries and this had all the best elements of court room drama and mystery. Author J.B. Millhollin has crafted a novel with just the right amount of twists and turns to keep readers engaged.
Ann and Jack are the main characters in this novel and while they are involved as a couple they also become involved as law partners which makes for an interesting concept. I am not well versed on the law but there were a few things that happened in the book that I questioned if that would really happen in today's world but again - I am not a courtroom expert by any means.
The story comes full circle from the opening with an interesting conclusion that may be a little bit far fetched but again- it was an enjoyable book to read and I came away from it happy that I had invested the time.

Interesting story full of drama and edge of your seat suspense. Likable characters. I look forward to more by this author.
I really enjoyed this fast-paced, engaging novel, and in particular the main character, Ann. I also enjoyed the portrayal of Ann and Jack, partners in life who also become law partners. I was completely willing to suspend my disbelief in respect of the ending, because it played to my sense of justice served.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for a free copy; I have willingly provided this honest review.
