The sentences in the story are short and specific. Sight words are frequently used throughout the story. A child can look at the picture and almost read the sentences. With the proper guidance and patience, a child can become a great reader by using the concepts presented in this book. The author and illustrator have entangled their creativity to motivate beginner readers. Setting up listening centers will encourage young beginner readers to read. At the back of the book are numerous activities to use to obtain levels of comprehension. Children will love this book; so will teachers who are getting the beginner learner to read. Valentine's Day can be a special day for reading this book to all young children - readers and non-readers.
