Description
In Oklahoma where Sooner football is almost a religion, what could be worse than defending a wife accused of murdering a former pro-football star? For Jenna Miller, that's just a typical Monday morning. After seven years in the Public Defender's Office and many personal betrayals, she believes no one can be trusted. But her latest client, Claire, penetrates her tough exterior.
As Jenna digs further, she finds forces are conspiring against Claire, who may have done the world a favor when she killed the monster in her home. If Jenna can't save Claire, not only will Claire's life be over, but a six-year-old girl will be left without her mother. Despite the danger, Jenna risks it all in the hunt for justice.

Another attorney turned author and musician, Shelley L Levisay’s Sooner Secrets has recently been published. A legal thriller set in football loving Oklahoma with its Sooner College football team. A woman kills her husband, a former Sooner pro-football star and she is arrested for murder. Jenna Miller is a Public Defender appointed as her attorney and she is cynical and burnt out from numerous client betrayal. If Jenna fails to win the case, then not only is it a life sentence but also a six-year-old girl will grow up without her mother. A caution: family violence is part of the plot line and may disturb some readers. So, in all an enjoyable legal thriller with a detailed court trial and four-star rating. With thanks to the Wild Rose Press Inc and the author, for an uncorrected advanced copy for review purposes. As always, the opinions herein are totally my own and freely given, without bias.
