This is a really lovely book about three sisters. It's about sisterly love, family commitments, and is really well written with great characters. I highly enjoyed it.

I think that this is possibly one of my most favourite books EVER! I absolutely loved all the characters (well except Myles!), loved the rocky relationships that the sisters had and how they made each other feel. It was just fabulous. A brilliant, beautifully written, gorgeous story of hope, love and second chances.

This is such a heartwarming book. It was well written with a lovely storyline and well developed characters that were relatable and likeable. I really enjoyed it.

Faith Hogan skilfully explores the bonds of family and sisterhood. Engaging, warm hearted and uplifting.

I have seen Faith Hogan’s previously release high in the Amazon charts and it has been on my tbr for a while but haven’t managed to get round to it yet. When I saw her latest novel The Gin Sisters Promise available for request on NetGalley I was excited to give it a go and I’m so happy I did. This was a heartwarming and thoroughly enjoyable read and I will definitely be pushing other Faith Hogan books up my tbr list!
It follows the story of three sisters following the death of their father and their journey to repairing their relationship and making changes to improve their lives and happiness. I think the characters were well written and likeable. They were all relatable in their own ways and I feel the author did a really good job of showing how we can all get wrapped up in our own lives and how this can impact our perception and relationships with others. Overall this was a heartwarming, feel good read which I found was also surprisingly impactful and inspiring. I would recommend to anyone looking for an enjoyable and emotive literary fiction. I look forward to reading more by Faith Hogan.

Everything about this book is captivating. This novel is impossible to put down. I downloaded the arc this morning, and by this afternoon, I had finished.

Three warring sisters and a Gin distillery - what could go wrong?

This is a beautiful story about three sisters, Georgie, Iris, and Nola, who, despite their pact to always be there for each other, find themselves, decades later, estranged and then brought back together through their father’s love.

I love books set in my birthplace (Ireland) and those that focus on family relationships and secrets. I enjoyed ‘The Ladies’ Midnight Swimming Club’ and welcomed the chance to return to Ballycove. Hogan did not disappoint. She taps into common relationship issues (divorce, sibling rivalry, parent-child) and relies on our emotional response to identify with the characters. I felt like I was sitting there sipping the Delahaye Gin, the vintage Iseult Gin, with the girls and contemplating the stipulation in the will. I could almost feel the tension in the room as I read.

Their father’s wish is for them to spend six months living together in their childhood home before claiming their inheritance. Just as you’d expect “the same old resentments had bubbled over and they were still hanging between them, like old ghosts waiting to come out again.” I felt compelled to continue reading to find out if the sisters were able to mend the bridges and fulfill the terms of their father’s will and find solutions to the challenges in their own lives. Money, the lack or the excess of it, always seems to be the root of many family challenges. This one is no different. I loved the author’s exploration of the importance of family and the need for second chances. Her books always read like she’s tucked a hug between the pages.

I recommend this story about sisters needing to find a way to overcome their past and work together to reinstate the Gin Sisters’ Promise.

Well what can one say, having read all this authors books I've never been disssapointed, it did take me a wee while to get into the book as I really did like the characters to begin with but I was intrigued as to what had taken place so many years before in ballycove.
This is a story that we can all relate to in so many ways, sisters Georgie Iris and Nola have never had the best of relationships with each other but an incident in there former years might overshadow there future.
Once I got into the book I was hooked the setting in the west of Ireland was picturesque and totally idyllic definitely a place for you to let your wounds heal, I want to give nothing away but thus was an amazing read and extremly thought provoking, I have nothing but praise for this exceptional book.

Last year I read and loved The Ladies Midnight Swimming Club by Faith.
I had to jump at the opportunity to read a new novel by this extraordinary Author.

It is a tale of grief, forgiveness, loneliness, heartbreak, second chances, and so much more.
The Gin Sister's are so alike and so different from one another. They are all dealing with personal issues, some going back years, others shocking sad new news.
I loved all of them.
They were warm, caring, compassionate, and so lovely to spend your time with.
A moving, touching read that made me miss my two sisters that much more.
These ladies overcome some thing's, while coping with greif, overcoming obstacles and making the most of your life.
Such a wonderful book I couldn't put it down.
It’s women’s fiction at its absolute finest.
Emotional, uplifting and beautifully written.

This was a very enjoyable story about warring sisters who are forced back into each others lives after their father died and they are reluctantly forced to sort his affairs out, all set in Ireland and involving a gin distillery - just about perfect!

Georgie, Iris and Nola, the GIN sisters, are three sisters who for various reasons have fallen out with each other and have barely seen each other, or their father in some cases, in years. But in coming back to their childhood home and living together for 6 months, a stipulation in their father's will, they also bring all their baggage too, along with the lies and half-truths they've been keeping from one another, but of course everything slowly reveals itself over the course of their stay there.

There's lots of emotion involved in sorting out old issues, finding their closeness in being sisters once again, along with big changes in the direction of each of their lives.

Just a wonderful book, with very real characters that I was really rooting for to sort out all their sqabbles and move forward with their lives. Loved it!

Although this novel got off to a slightly slow start and at times the relationship “stalls” between the 3 sisters got frustrating, I truly enjoyed this novel set in Ireland (and less so in London). The 3 sisters have had a long standing strife between them, but are forced to come together when their father leaves them a bequest - reading about the 3 women trying to overcome personal issues they wanted kept a secret while navigating their rocky relationships amongst themselves was interesting and honestly, as an only child, an eye opener for me about how sisters relate at different times in their lives. I enjoyed the story other than the pace as I mentioned above, but about 1/3 way through it picked up nicely and I enjoyed the close of the novel after a satisfying story.

Another brilliant book written by Faith Hogan.
Set in Ballycove, three sisters return home after the death of their father. Whilst it took me a little bit to get into it, I was soon absorbed by the stories of Georgie, Iris and Nola, the gin sisters. They must live together for 6 months and during that time we see their stories unravel and their bonds change. A great book, totally absorbing and comforting

The Gin Sisters, Georgie, Iris and Nola, had made a promise when their mother passed away, that they would always be there for each other. As time went on, the sisters stopped talking and the promise was broken. They are all grown up and have their own lives, but things didn't turn out the way they thought they would.
They received a phone call that their father passed away, and they go back to Ireland for the funeral and the reading of the will.
Their father wanted them to live together for six months, and be the sisters they promised to be. The sisters really didn't get along, and wanted nothing to with each other, so could they do what their father was asking?
It isn't easy, and even though they try, the pain and hurt of the past stands in their way. The only one you can change is yourself, and when they start to realize that, and take steps to see themselves for who they are and what they need to do to improve their lives, things begin to change. There is hope that maybe they can make the sister's promise happen and be there for each other.
The story is written as their life is unfolding, so there will be, setbacks, a few steps in the right direction, they start to not only learn things about themselves, but they learn just what they are capable of. You will find out in the end whether they can be the GIN sisters who are there for each other, but there is so much that will keep you reading, that I don't want to give anything away.

What a fantastic read. I really loved the the story of the three sisters Georgia.,Iris and Nola who haven't spoken to each other for years but are thrown together after the death of their father and have to return to Ireland for the funeral and the reading of the will. They each think the others have got great lives but it seems they all have troubles but have never admitted it each other ,so will they eventually admit their problems and finally heal their rift .Loved all the girls backstories and their characters were interesting and enjoyable. Really recommend this 5🌟read

I read and so enjoyed The Ladies' Midnight Swimming Club by Faith Hogan so I was really excited to get an invitation to review this via NetGalley. Meet The Gin Sisters...Georgie, Iris and Nola. These aren't your typical lovey, dovey bunch, they haven't spoken to each other in many years...but then their father dies and states in his will that wants them to spend six months together to mend their riff. Will his plan for them to spend all that time together getting to know and love each other again work? This book is about familial relationships, secrets, and lies. It dives into many current issues such as divorce, grief, and accepting change. I loved the theme of healing old wounds and forgiveness and how the sisters learned about themselves, and each other, while doing so. I found these ladies very real and relatable and I enjoyed getting to know each of them. This was such a poignant story and Faith Hogan never disappoints.

What a refreshing book about sisterhood, friendship and memories to be held on to.
A great book that flows the story so perfectly.

What a lovely read this book was. Great characters you could get into and great storyline that was captivating all the way to the very end. Highly recommended!

Their father will stipulates that they must live together for six months because he is hoping this will help heal the rift between them, I don’t want to give anything away so I’m just gonna say right here that this book was so beautifully written, I loved everything about it! The town, the people, the sisters I loved watching each one of them grow and turn into the people they were always meant to be, a book about love , loss , healing and forgiveness And the fact that it’s never too late!

Families relationships are full of drama that cuts deep and leaves scars that are difficult to heal. In this novel three sisters, Georgie, Iris, and Nola (the GIN Sisters) grew up in Ballycove, Ireland. They lost their mother when Nola was still very young and the sisters came together protectively and made promises to always take care of each other. But then through some perceived betrayals they fell apart and didn't stay in touch or speak at all for years. Then their father died and they came back to bury him. His will had some difficult stipulations. Can they put their differences aside and come together as family? Forgiveness is a very difficult thing when hurt is so great.

This was a well-written family drama. I felt I understood each of the characters well. The descriptions of life in Ballycove made me want to live in such a beautiful place. The characters were flawed and each had to realize their own deficits and cope with changing their lives.

All are leading separate lives and each thinks the other is doing well and each sister is jealous of the other. The truth is none of the sisters are doing well or are happy with their chosen life.
A phone call to say that their father has passed away brings the girls back to their childhood home in Ballycove. Their father owned a distillery and between that and the huge house and grounds there should be a significant amount of money in his will to change the lives of all three of them. The catch is they have to stay in the house for six months or none of them will get the inheritance.

I enjoyed this book so much. I liked each of the sisters and felt for them for the way their lives had turned out. I willed them to tell each other what they had been going through but they were too proud to do that.
Faith Hogan tells really good stories, the kind that keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. Jealousy, unrequited love, sibling rivalry, grief and lost chances are all covered in this book.
I loved the ending too.

Three sisters, who haven't talked to each other in years, return to their family home in Ireland after the death of their father. This is a story about family and learning to forgive old grievances. With plenty of drama, this book will keep you captivated until the end. I would love to see the Gin Sisters' story continue. Well this is a delightful read. Three estranged sisters return to the village of their birth for their father’s funeral. They all have their private battles and they all think the others have their live’s sorted.
A beautiful uplifting comforting read.
We’re back in Ballycove the setting for the brilliant Ladies' Midnight Swimming Club, and while there’s the odd nod to some of the characters we met there, and all the more enjoyable for it, this is a standalone read.

So as well as themselves, they bring their lies that they’ve kept from each other, showing that alls well with them. But, slowly, the lies start to unravel over the time of their stay.

As the incidents of the past are brought out, a lot of emotions are shown, but the sisters are coming together once again, as well as making decisions on the way they want their lives to go.

Recommend this book.

The author brings the readers back to Ballycove in this standalone book. We see some familiar locations and local events that were in The Ladies Midnight Swimming Club, but not many, this book definitely stands on it’s own.

As families often do, the Delahyde sisters have been estranged for some years now. Lies, misunderstandings and jealousy drove and kept them apart, while life continues. All are living quite different lives, but those lives aren’t happy. When their father dies and they all return to Ballycove, it is tense and hard. A strict instruction in the will means that to inherit, they have to live together for 6 months or lose everything.

I enjoyed following Georgie, Iris and Nola as they navigate being back in Ballycove together, each with one foot back in their old lives. They learn about themselves and grow, both individually and as sisters. No spoilers here.

They hadn't met for years, but when they go back to their home town in Ireland for their father's funeral, they are forced to face some home truths. They realise that they have all neglected their loving widowed father and also each other's needs. Each thought the others were leading perfect lives, but they gradually realise this is far from the truth. Will they stay in Ireland or return to their previous lives? A strong storyline and relatable characters make this just as good a read as The Ladies Midnight Swimming Club.

Simply delightful! I loved this heart warming story of three sisters, forced back together after the death of their father. Seeing their past unpicked and resolved as their relationships healed was wonderful. Really well written, loveable characters and a fabulous setting. I’ll definitely look out for the next story from Ballycove!

I could see myself living in Ballycove, the author makes it sound like such an inviting, friendly place to live. The relationships are very well described in this book, explaining the issues from all 3 of the sisters points of view. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will definitely be looking out for what the author produces next.

I loved Faith Hogan’s novel The Ladies’ Midnight Swimming Club and that was what attracted me to this title. Having finished this one, I’m off to find her other books.

A story full of love, pathos, family misunderstandings, secrets and laughter. Initially I wondered if I would cope with the three sisters’ storylines, but I soon became absorbed in their lives, loves and losses.

The book made me think about legacies and the family tangles and feuds we get into over the years.

I wanted each of the sisters to get their happy ever after and it seems their father did too. Definitely a thought-provoking novel which made me experience a wide variety of emotions from laughter to tears. Highly recommended.

The Delahaye sisters were only young when their mother passed away suddenly. With their father wrapped up in his own grief the three girls made a pact to always stick together. Almost 30 years later the sisters are estranged, each blaming the others for the things that have gone wrong in their lives. Knowing this, their father makes a stipulation in his will that in order to claim their inheritance they must live together in the family home for 6 months.
Leaving London for the village of Ballycove in Ireland should be a wrench for each of them but maybe it’s the best thing that could happen. Over the course of the next 6 months each sister will have to face her past in order to move on to her future.
Set mainly in a small Irish village this story of family feuds, sibling rivalry and forgiveness will enchant you and ultimately warm your heart.

I love the title of the book using the sister’s names Georgie, Iris and Nola.
This book is so heart touching and makes a person think of how sisters are so needed in each other’s lives.
The story of the sisters was so easy to read and pulled me in to their lives.
Being estranged for years they came back together after the death of their father. Secrets, promises and things they don’t want to speak of brings out the love they have for each other and gives them their bond as sisters back into their lives.

This book is a delight to read. It’s a heartwarming story about three sisters, and I loved it. I have no siblings, but I always wished I had some, and it was nice to learn about the three main characters.
I liked the main characters. I think everyone can relate to at least one of the sisters. I’d like to think I’m closest to the creative one, as art is and will always be close to my heart.
I love the locations of the book, both London and Ireland. I love travelling to far away places via books, and at the moment it is the only kind of travelling that I do.
I also like the style of writing and story telling which the author is using. It’s a feel good book, heart warming and happy. It’s a perfect candidate for 5 stars and I’m so happy to have been one of the early readers.

How wonderful to be back in Ballycove again – it’s the third time I’ve visited, and it always feels like coming home. And it used to be a happy home for the Delahaye sisters – Georgie, Iris and little Nola – until they lost their mother twenty-eight years ago and their father withdrew in his grief, making them a close unit who always looked after each other. In the intervening years, they went their separate ways, their closeness blown apart by resentments and misunderstandings – and the prospect of returning home for their father’s funeral isn’t one any of them is looking forward to. Each of them has considerable problems, their seemingly perfect lives rather falling apart, and they each plan to keep that hidden – but when their father’s will stipulates that they must spend six months together in Ballycove, in the hope that they can address their differences, before they’ll be able to walk away with their inheritance, it’s clear there are difficult times ahead.

The absolute joy about this book is in the handling of the relationship between the three sisters – very real and sometimes painful as long-held resentments come to the surface, slowly and steadily changing into something quite different as they find themselves again and the bonds that once held them together. Each of the women touches your heart in their own way, their paths through life to date and the way they handle their enforced stay at the family home – the way they each find their own way through is just wonderful, each of them slowly unfolding and finding what makes them happy.

Despite the initial hissing and spitting, there’s a great deal of love in this book – and the author’s gentle and sensitive telling of their story makes it one that fills you with warmth and feel-good. The emotional content is exceptionally well-handled – with a real feeling of authenticity – and although relatively slow-paced it was a book I found impossible to set aside, reading it in a single glorious sitting, entirely immersed in the women’s lives.

Written from the heart, and tremendously uplifting – I really loved this book, and recommend it really highly.

A good family tale of three estranged sisters, each unhappy in their life in London, forced to return to Ireland to live together under the terms of their father’s Will. What follows is an in-depth understanding of the intricacies of the sister relationship. Each of the GIN sisters - Georgie, Iris and Nola - has their own issues, but the can be overcome - if only they’d talk to each other honestly.

Raw, authentic and realistic, this author has the ability to draw you in and make the characters on the page come to life - as if they are in the same room as you. She has a way with words that conjures warmth and invites you into the story. I really enjoyed the midnight ladies swimming circle so didn’t hesitate and dived straight into this book.

Fabulous, 4.5* from me.

The book begins with the funeral of Georgie. Iris & Nola's mammy. She died young & they were left with their devastated father. You can feel the despair through Faith Hogans great writing & the love these three girls had for each other, but things changed.
After the falling out over Iris's husband Myles, they all went their separate ways. None of them really happy, just existing. Their father owned a successful distillery & when he dies, all three girls meet up again.
The struggles they have had are expertly articulated by the writer & it feels as though she has first-hand experience of these issues. Great intuitive writing.
I always enjoy this writer's stories & this was up there with the best. Recommended read.
