I received a free e-arc of this book through Netgalley.
The idea of a bucket list has always intrigued me and this might actually get me to make one of my own. Lydia Grey finds a stranger's bucket list and decides to mark it off since her own life has not been full of adventure or fun. She is stuck and still in love with her soon to be ex-husband Adam who left her two years ago. Following the bucket list goes better than planned and Lydia even finds a hottie new friend Jake to do the list with her. What follows is pretty predictable, but it's good rom com with lots of tasty food and a houseful of Polish family and friends. It feels like an authentic story.

Adam, Lydia’s husband, has found a new partner and deserted her, leaving Lydia feeling lost and alone unable to move on. She has tried internet dating, but still loving her husband, hasn’t succeeded in finding a new partner.
When Lydia discovers Lily Bennett’s bucket list at the bottom of a shopping trolley, it seems filled with adventure and challenges. Accompanied by Jake, a newfound friend, Lydia decides to try and complete the list and hopefully get back with her husband.
Although Lydia has experienced tricky situations with several previous internet partners, the book has a humorous tone which I thoroughly enjoyed. I liked all the characters; Lydia, who feels lost back living with her family, Aga, her Polish domineering mother has lots of attitude, and is hilarious in her strong-minded views, all the family bring humour but also pathos to the plot.
I felt empathy for Lydia wanting to become more adventurous, attempting the difficult challenges encouraged by Jake who believes that Lydia is Lily Bennett. But Jake also has secrets of his own.
The book is about Lydia’s journey into finding herself, gaining courage, families and romance. Although the plot was a little drawn out in places, I enjoyed reading Katherine Dyson’s first novel, and hope there are more to come.

What a beautifully written book, a perfect holiday read. Lydia’s husband has undermined her confidence by always trying to change her. When he walks out wanting a divorce Lydia is In total shock. She ends up losing her home and moving in with her mother feeling very lonely as her daughter flies off for her year abroad. When she finds the bucket list in the shopping trolley she decides following this might maker her more adventurous and fun. any maybe help her get her husband back.

I really liked Lydia and her daughter Ollie and I wanted her to find the person she was not the person her ex had made her into. Then she meets Jake who wants to help her complete the bucket list and thats when the story really takes off and becomes entertaining. Lydia’s family and friends add so much to the story too. This is a book with a bit of everything, humour, sadness, misunderstandings and an ending I really loved.

It was a lovely summer read, it was a flowing story! She finds a list, and then she decides to go ahead and do it along with Jake. Definitely a good read.

Such a lovely, uplifting story with relateable and likable characters that I know I am going to miss.
The only negative points I have are the repetivity of Ollie's dimples popping when she smiled, everyone smiling so widely their eyes all but disappeared and everyone brushing their hair off their faces, but I know this is very pedantic of me!

Lydia finds a bucket list at the bottom of her trolley. As she's had a rough time and everybody thinks she wont do anything adventurous she decides to do the things on Lily Bennet's list. She meets Jake and they decide to do the list together

What a lovely summery read. I cried tears of happiness at the end. Lydia is being divorced by her husband who was always criticising her. She finds a Bucket List in her shopping trolley and decides to attempt all of them. She meets Jake online and they decide to do them together. It’s a story of finding yourself and finding your life partner. Lydia’s family are lovely. I don’t want to give too much away but I firmly suggest you read it.

Lily Bennett's Bucket List by K. Dyson, published by Harper Collins and One More Chapter, is a witty and fun read.
Lydia is a divorced single mom, a bit lost and hasn't much to show. Her ex-husband has a brand new shiny girlfriend and she has a Lily Bennet's Bucket List, found in a shopping trolley.
Jack Jones, a starnger, in general a good guy mistakes her for Lily and together they're on the journey to check the bucket list together.
A great debut, well written, suspenseful, a read in one sitting book, 4,5 stars.

This is an immensely enjoyable book. When Lydia finds another woman’s bucket list and decides to complete it she has no idea of the adventures she will have. Lydia has a close family, and her mother is hilarious! The ending is particularly moving. I can’t wait for the next book by Katherine Dyson.

Thank you to One More Chapter, Harper Collins Canada and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this absolutely delightful ebook.

I haven’t been so excited to read a book like this in a long time. These characters just pulled me into their amazing group of love and friendship making me feel like I belonged there with them. Never before have I felt like I was part of a story until this book.

You will be overjoyed with their happiness and your heart will hurt for them. There is a lovely mixture of humour and a bossy mother that makes you want to be adopted. I don’t know how the author did it but I was entranced with the story and simply could set it down. Reading until my husband’s alarm went. Now I can go to sleep with a big smile on my face and faith in love and happy endings.

This was a fab fun read and I basically loved it!

Lydia decides to reinvent herself after feeling terminally boring- and chooses to do this by living the bucket list she finds in a shopping trolley. She meets Jake on a dating app who promises to work through the list with her, as a friend.

Although this is a holiday romance book in style and therefore comes complete with a predictable ending, it did not disappoint, it was funny and thoroughly enjoyable!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

In a attempt to win back her husband Lydia tries to fulfil a stranger's bucket list with the help of Jake, a random man that she had met. Sounds very unlikely, but somehow it works for me helped by the cast of characters and the situations that Lydia finds herself in. For me it started as a solid 4* book, but as the story grows it really drew me in to the point where I finished reading it at 1:30 in the morning.
Some of the items on the bucket list were fairly simple, others I would struggle with as well, but the main point of all of them were to take her out of her comfort zone. There is also the mystery of who originally wrote the bucket list, the elusive Lily Bennett.
In summary a book that I really enjoyed and can definitely recommend.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book and I have already pre-ordered it as I enjoyed reading it so much.

Who would have thought that finding a piece of paper at the supermarket with someone else's bucket list on it could change your life? Lydia Grey's life was going nowhere, she was still in love with her estranged husband & wanted him back. The chance meeting of him with his new girlfriend & finding the bucket list in the same supermarket sparked a motivation she didn't know she had.
Loved the characters in this book. Lydia's family was amazing & made me laugh. The book flowed beautifully & the ending was perfect. A real feel-good read. Enjoy!

I must admit, I had quite low expectations when I went to begin this book, as I felt it’d just be another chic lit and it’d be an ok read to while away the time, but not that interesting, but how wrong I was. I couldn’t put this book down, and sadly ended up so lost in the story I didn’t get around to doing things I’d planned with my day, as I was so hooked. The story revolves around Lydia, whose husband one day randomly decides he’s leaving her out of the blue, and her trying to get some sort of life. She comes across someone’s bucket list, and initially starts to do it because she thinks it’ll help her win her husband back before the divorce goes through, but in the end it becomes about her finding herself. I really loved this story, and all the characters in it (apart from Adam who we’re not meant to like) and would highly recommend this book to everyone

Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I loved reading this book. The characters were all lovable Lydia, Jake, Ollie, Aga, Tosh, Mila, etc, all will be rememberable.

The message that this book gave, we can relate to and that is to keep those in your life that like you for who you are, and let those go that try to change you. The book had everything, adventure, tears, love as well as many laughs.

So, if you want to read a book that will make you want to go on an adventure, this is the book for you.

I recommend this book.

What a lovely, sweet, funny book. When Lydia finds someone else’s bucket list in a supermarket trolley she is possibly at her lowest ebb, so surprising everyone (including herself) she decides to tick off all the items.

A beautifully uplifting book.

A different sort of bucket list novel! Lydia's had a tough time- her husband has left her, her daughter Ollie is off on her travels, and her mother is, well her mother and she's living with her. Nothing is going right so when she finds Lily's bucket list on the bottom of her shopping cart, well, she's found a purpose. And then she finds Jake on line and he, despite his own issues (and the fact that he thinks she's Lily) agrees to do the list with her. There's nothing especially outstanding about the list but it's challenging enough to make Lydia think. And the relationship with Jake grows nicely, Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good read.

Wow Lilys list was just what Lydia needed to break her lack of self esteem and self worth that her husband had created during their 20 years of marraige. It was brilliant to see Lydia growing and becoming the person she used to be in this story including her flaws. The characters were believable in this story and were a typical close knit family. Everyone needs a bucket list to push us to do things we normally wouldnt. I will be reading more from this writer and will definitely be recommending to others. What a fantastic read! Thanks to One More Chapter and Netgalley for the ARC

I really enjoyed this. I wasn't actually expecting to find it quite so uplifting - I was instead rather anticipating a light read, with a relatively predictable storyline. The storyline does follow the tried and tested and always welcome trope of 'not looking for love, but finds it anyway' romance novel we all enjoy, but does it in such a way it holds your interest, entertains at every turn of the page and rewards with that happy, warm feeling inside. And what Bea learns, we can all learn from - jut be yourself. Smile with your whole face, plunge into every new and scary experience and discover the fierce, capable woman you truly are.

Lydia Grey is almost 40, and about to be divorced from the love of her life. Her daughter is off on a trip around the world and she has moved back in with her parents. Life is pretty grim.
She finds a bucket list at the bottom of a Sainsbury's shopping trolley in the name of Lily Bennett and decides to do all of the challenges.
She meets a new man and he helps her to complete the bucket list but he thinks she is Lily Bennett.
They both have secrets but along the way life enfolds for both of them.
Loved it!!

After bumping into her ex husband and his glamourous new girlfriend at the supermarket Lydia realises she needs to do something drastic to win him back. Serendipitously, she finds the bucket list of Lilly Bennett at the bottom of her shopping trolly, so instead of coming up with her own list, she decides to complete this one.

Along with a new friend Jake, who believes she is Lilly, Lydia starts ticking off the adventures. Making memories and getting closer to Jake in the process. But at what point does she reveal the truth about her identity and will Jake ever forgive her?

This had me gripped from the start. I loved the growing confidence of Lydia and her strength to change.

This was a lovely, feel good story. Lydias' marriage comes to and end after 20 years as her husband wants a more exciting life! She then finds Lily Bennetts' Bucket list in her shopping basket and decides she is going to be adventurous. She hooks up with Jake who agrees to help her complete her challenges, although she doesn't tell him she isn't Lily.. This is hilarious in parts and sad in others but Lydia has an amazing family who have her back. My kind of conclusion.

Loved this book enormously. It was such a fun read, and I really enjoyed the culture and message. It had a less traditional outcome than romance novels and featured someone of a different age bracket, which I found refreshing and relatable. Thank you for creating a relatable and inspirational book that was so enjoyable to read.

Lydia cannot seem to get over her husband leaving her because she was boring. On her way home from a terrible date, she finds a paper entitled Lily’s Bucket List. She decides to do the list to become more attractive to her ex. On a dating app, Lydia asks for some one to complete the tasks with her. She is up front with Jake from the start telling him she wants to win her husband back. Jake Jones suggests a meeting and seeing the title, assumes Lydia is Lily and she does not correct him. Lydia does not like herself and decides she would rather be Lily. I loved this book. Lydia now lives at home and is subjected to her mother’s criticism of how she lives her life. When Jake comes into her life, he supports her and sees a different woman altogether. Jake has a lot of secrets himself and concentrates on being the person Lydia needs him to be so she can feel better about herself. The items on the list made the book lots of fun. Surfing lessons, horseback riding and camping had me laughing out loud. This is at the top of my favorite reads this summer.

Let me start by saying, this book was a big breath of fresh air. It inspired me to write my own bucket list and to tackle adventures that would normally terrify me. Lily Bennet’s Bucket List is an incredible book. I feel in love with all of the characters. Lydia, Jake, Ollie, Aga, Tosh, Mila, and etc. They all hold a special place in my heart when I think about this book.

This book is fantastic and shares a great message to its readers. Hold onto those who bring out the best of you and let go of the ones who try to change you. This book gives you strangers to lovers, adventure, love, tears, and so many laughs. I have can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard while reading a book.

The amount of times I laughed at the different ways Jake “broke” his arm, hilarious. Every single one of them. Phenomenal.

If you’re looking for a book that will inspire adventure and to get you out of your comfort zone while still getting that Rom Com feel, this is the book for you.

Thanks to Netgalley, HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter, and Katherine Dyson for early access to this arc. I can’t wait to read everyone’s reactions when it comes out September 9th.

So many people have a bucket list, including me, either one for later or like me, working through it bit by bit as when something can be ticked off.
Lydia Grey's life is often dull, as dull as the colour grey when there's no light and shade and atmosphere to it, say like you would see in a painting. It's just plain dull! Even her husband, since left, even though after so many years together, because she had become drab and boring.
Then life spices up quite significantly and brightness shines through, along with a whole array of colours and experiences when she discovers Lily Bennett's bucket list at the bottom of a shopping trolley. Lily is a complete stranger to Lydia, but this list looks adventurous, so she gets brave and decides to make her way down it doing all the activities on it. Then the excitement and wonderful adventures begin!
Jake assumes Lydia is Lily and she doesn't put him right, which later causes a bit of trepidation and wonder about what she is going to do when it comes to it, as they embark on the adventures together.

It's a sweet, uplifting read with an edge of bittersweetness. It's a really nice debut novel for readers to settle down and relax into, with its warmth, romance and humour.

I was not sure at first then wow. Lydia was a great character . I loved the bucket list without giving too much away. It was set in the north east and I knew so many of the places. The Polish mum was great, good ears. I loved Jake and we got an ace ending. Much enjoyed. Read it

Loved. This. So. Much. In. Every. Way.

Lydia Grey is almost 40, going through a divorce and living with her parents. She still loves her husband and wants him back (he’s dating again). The list (I won’t give anything away there) is her key to becoming more adventurous and exciting to entice him back.

She enlists a Bucket Buddy (Jake) from her dating app (friends only, of course) to keep her on track and encouraged during this journey. As they work their way through the nine items on the list, she (with the love and support of her daughter and their extended hilarious family) begins to see that she has allowed herself to become “grey”, taking a backseat to life (and her husband). As Jake helps her accomplish her goals and find her misplaced self, he also shows her that she doesn’t have to be perfect, just be herself. And they both begin some self-healing (Jake also has some issues), both alone and apart from each other.

This was so wonderful! The adventures on the bucket list were laugh-out-loud funny (but also endearing). The characters were quirky, original and just plain lovable (special shout out to Lydia’s family!). And to top it off, there was some serious chemistry going on as well (never hurts!). :)

This book is one of those rare gems that you feel so lucky and tickled to discover. Highly recommended.

*On a side note, I read this in one sitting, which I never do.

My thanks to the author, NetGalley and One More Chapter for providing me the free early arc for review. The opinions are strictly my own.

Oh my god I don’t know if I could’ve loved this more. An absolute feel-good novel with characters that are real and flawed, who GROW and love each other and support each other and urgh I just want to give this book a big hug. There were so many high points of this book - the writing was excellent, the characters were fantastic, their dynamics were believable and their dialogue was as well, the plot was interesting and not something I’d read before, and though predictable, I enjoyed every second of it.

HIGHLY recommend this. Will be paying $$ to buy this when it comes out, and will also be buying it for my mom! Thank you to NetGalley, HarperCollins, and One More Chapter for the delightful e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

5/5 stars.

What would Lily Bennet do? Following a bucket list and all the adventures and twists and turns along the way make this book a romance novel with a difference. Absolutely brilliant and perfect for a summer beach read or a cosy autumn sit by the fire read.
