Description
Octavio Cesar Martinez writes on the subject of forgiveness with engaging honesty, humility and depth.
His deeply personal story is raw, inviting us into his suffering and struggle as he recounts his painful and abusive childhood, growing into a life of rage. But, he also leads us into his experience of freedom and joy, without denial or candy-coating.
As Octavio learns to forgive, so do we. If you have been hurt or betrayed, this book is for you. If you have thought about revenge, or imagined punishing someone for their misdeeds, this book is for you.
If you have been self-righteous or judgmental, you will benefit. In short, if you're human, it's for you. It's like emotional and spiritual CPR; breathe it in.
Advance Praise
"“Many books will tell you about forgiveness. Octavio Martinez has done something much more powerful: he leads his readers through a visceral experience of forgiveness they won’t soon forget. I can think of no more effective way to learn.” — Rachel - Houston, Texas

Octavio Cesar Martinez opened up himself in the process of teaching us about forgiveness, finding peace, and obstacles one can encounter when looking inwards instead of the people who surround you. There was a lot of healing done and growth, and if you are someone who thinks they have forgiven but randomly have certain thoughts you believed would never come back into your mind because you forgave, so now it's supposed to just disappear, well It was a Beautiful Day When My Father Died is the book to read.
It explains through the life of the author what it truly is to forgive and find peace, and the generational trauma that can continue its wrath down to the loves of our lives.
