Description

Strong female friendships and a snappy enemies-to-lovers theme take center stage in this highly anticipated romantic comedy from the USA Today bestselling author of The Dating Playbook.

Successful pediatric surgeon London Kelley just needs to find some balance and de-stress. According to her friends Samiah and Taylor, what London really needs is a casual hookup. A night of fun with no strings. But no one—least of all London—expected it to go down at her high school reunion with Drew Sullivan, millionaire, owner of delicious abs, and oh yes, her archnemesis.

Now London is certain the road to hell is paved with good sex. Because she’s found out the real reason Drew’s back in Austin: to decide whether her beloved hospital remains open. Worse, Drew is doing everything he can to show her that he’s a decent guy who actually cares. But London’s not falling for it. Because while sleeping with the enemy is one thing, falling for him is definitely not part of the plan.

I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook! It was sweet, romantic, and funny and I really found myself hooked.

High school enemies to adult lovers! I had a great time with The Hookup Plan. London is a successful pediatric surgeon (though a stressed, hypertensive, workaholic one). At her 10 year high school reunion, she runs into Drew- her high school rival and co-valedictorian. He's back in town for work and they end up hooking up. Except, it turns out he's there to audit the hospital she works at...

What was great about this was how the romance between these two interweaves other personal issues and places they need to grow. London competed with Drew because she was trying for her narcissistic father's approval and must come to terms with that. Drew is still grieving the loss of his mother to cancer and his own feelings of responsibility. London is also carrying so much stress, it is beginning to impact her health. But she cares deeply about the well-being of her patients. Meanwhile, Drew has secretly always had a thing for London and this explores how different things are as adults than as teens.

The main downside was the steamy parts were kind of meh. Not much buildup or anything other than straight to P in V action which somehow magically leads to multiple orgasms. It kind of made me roll my eyes and I wish there had just been fewer scenes altogether if it was where it was going to go. Otherwise, I really liked the characters their growth arcs, and the romance! The audio narration is great as well. I received an advance audio copy of this book via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Finished within 24 hours. Farrah Rochon is one of my top five favorite RomCom authors and she has ended the Boyfriend Project series on a high note… I’m completely sad it’s over. I have loved getting to know these ladies and enjoyed the friendships throughout each book. I’ve been eagerly awaiting London’s book from her profession as a pediatric surgeon to her being reunited with an old classmate everything about this one kept me not wanting to stop listening to it. The banter is always so good and her books and London and Drew were pure 🔥 I’m excited to see what Farrah is cooking up next!

This was a steamy, enemies to lovers workplace romance between London, a stressed out Doctor suffering from hypertension and Drew, the man hired to audit the finances of her hospital. Reunited at their high school reunion, London and Drew have a hot weekend affair only for London to be blindsided when she realizes she has to work with Drew for the next month.

I loved how smart and big hearted these characters were! Drew wants to make London happy, readily volunteering to be her sexual stress reliever, while London is passionate about getting a sensory room that could help improve the experiences of children on the spectrum who have to stay at the hospital.

Full of great female friendship, women of color in STEM and childfree by choice rep. I so enjoyed how strong and independent London was and how she took charge of her life, despite the toxic relationship she has with her father.

Recommended for fans of other romances featuring women doctors like On rotation, First love, take two, Part of your world or The exception by Lauren H. Mae. Much thanks to NetGalley and Forever for my advance review copies. This was great on audio narrated by Marissa Hampton and a satisfying end to the author's Boyfriend Project series with lots of cameos from Samiah and Taylor.

So I didn’t read the first 2 books, but I definitely will after reading this one! I loved London. She’s a badass and fights for what she believes in. I loved Drew. Swoon worthy and charming (and the $100M doesn’t hurt either 😉).. I loved their relationship. I loved the relationship with London and her siblings evolve. I wish there was a bit more at the end about the jerk at the hospital having karma kick his butt or something. Or with her mom & stepmom maybe having a convo about her dad and accepting that London kicked him out of her life but otherwise this book was perfection!

The Boyfriend Project is one of my favourite spicy romance series and The Hookup Plan is the best one yet! It tells London's story of becoming a pediatric surgeon and being reunited with her high school adversary and co-valedictorian at a reunion. Farrah Rochon does a great job of creating interesting, smart characters who are a lot of fun but also dealing with serious issues like burnout, workaholics, taking time for self-care and fraught relationships with bad parents, which makes for a very relatable, and heartwarming story. I am sorry to see this series come to an end but can't wait to see what she will write next. Marissa Hampton was the perfect voice of both the main characters on the audiobook. It really felt like London and Drew were telling me their story themselves.
