Description
It is Christmas morning, 1901, and Sherlock Holmes discovers that the wine in a bottle of French Beaune (intended as a gift for Dr. Watson) has been switched with sand, and he suspects it means a threat to the newly crowned King of England. Or does it? Sherlock fans and mystery lovers alike will enjoy this short and sweet tale that features the recurring cast of “irregulars” and a lighthearted spin of a holiday prank.
A Note From the Publisher
J. Lawrence Matthews is the author of One Must Tell the Bees: Abraham Lincoln and the Final Education of Sherlock Holmes, a “tour de force” that brought Sherlock Holmes and Abraham Lincoln together for the first time. He has contributed fiction to the New York Times and NPR’s All Things Considered, and is the author of three non-fiction books as Jeff Matthews, including Pilgrimage to Omaha (McGraw-Hill, 2010). A Sherlock Holmes Christmas Story is his second novel, and he is now researching the third, a sequel to One Must Tell the Bees that follows Sherlock Holmes to Florence, Mecca and Tibet.
