Description

Travel writer Dayna Benning tours Europe to write a feature story for a travel magazine. Along the way, she helps her bestie scatter her husband’s ashes. When Dayna accidentally sprinkles Alex Mendes with dried rose petals intended for the deceased, she senses a chemistry with the silver fox airline pilot. Just one catch—he wears a wedding band. Embittered by her divorce, Dayna refuses to be a homewrecker, like the woman who ruined her marriage. Alex and Dayna go their separate ways, but she’s mystified when serendipitous signs point her toward him at every turn. Determined to find out why, she learns Alex is a widower. Dayna hopes for a second chance at love…but her resentful heart stops her. Can she forgive those that broke her heart the first time? And for that matter, can she forgive herself for her failed marriage? Unless she finds a way to piece together her fragmented heart, Alex will forever remain a fantasy.

This is a wonderful love story about forgiving and allowing for second chances. It is well written and inspirational though I couldn’t relate to the characters as much because they are experiencing a different part of life then I am. Divorced, death, kids and second chances later in life are the focus of this book. Throw in some European travel and a big gesture and you have a mature adult romance.

This is a fantastic book to read. I found it very delightful, funny, and full of wisdom. The author has an amazing way with her sense of romance and humor combined. This story lets the reader that the voyage through Spain with the main characters Dayna and Alex. The story is full of charming, tension-filled, heartbreaking, heartwarming emotions and shows us how you really can find love again.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for submitting the ARC in exchange for an honest review. I really liked the book, it's a very quick and fun read, it was great to follow Dayna's story, she is an incredible character, humorous, friend and companion. Also, I really enjoyed reading a book with characters close to old age, as this is something I don't see a lot in romcom books, and it's cool to see people's dilemmas and fears about aging, it makes me reflect. I liked the novel too, the description of the scenarios, the landscapes (the sheep in the bathroom hahaha), the dialogues, the only thing I found a little negative was the beginning, full of too many coincidences (I'm a little skeptical for that), but other than that so, I highly recommend this read!

Dayna and Alex are both American's who meet in Europe, but what will happen to them and their baggage when it is time to return to their real lives? I liked the setting of the book and that it is told from both points of view.
