Description
Life Giver Roe, Sorcerer Ori, and Tamer Theo are three siblings with ancient backpack powers living in a mystical world. Together with their friends, they travel through forests, deserts, caves, and swamps in order to fight against the Guardians, a Storm Catcher named Tora, and her father, First City Leader Quinlan, in a battle between good and evil. The outcome of this conflict will have significant consequences for their world's future.
In Drifters Realm, twelve-year-old twins Ori and Roe, along with their older brother Theo, set out on a perilous journey in search of the truth about their father and the threat posed by the Menace to their way of life. As they journey, they must decide whether to fight against each other using their powers or to join forces in order to stop Quinlan and his daughter, Tora, who seek to destroy their peaceful existence.
Along the way, they encounter conflict, twists and turns, and complex characters, both heroes and villains. With the help of their unique backpack magic, transforming into lion, or following a glowing ring to a magical blue pool under the stars is possible. In Drifters Realm, AnneMarie Mazotti Gouveia tells a compelling story of survival and the power of friendship and family.

Drifters Realm had everything I enjoy reading in a fantasy book: rich description, some gorgeous coloured illustrations, relatable characters and a whole lot of questions which are yet to be resolved. Life seems idyllic until various children start to go missing without a trace. Roe, Ori and their older brother Theo along with Seth and a group of others set out to discover the truth of events for themselves. Who has been giving them accurate information? Who are the Menace? Will their obligation skills and backpacks be enough to protect themselves and those they care about?
I will be keeping my eyes peeled for book 2!
This is definitely an action packed middle grade story. Everyone in the Drifters Realm are assigned special roles and powers. You get introduced to Roe and Theo and find out that their parents and brother mysteriously disappear.
A chain of events is set off when Roe nearly gets hurt by a Guardian. This leads to Roe and Theo with reuniting with their brother Ori and getting involved in a revolt to overthrow the rule of the First City. I would read this book to my child.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is the story of a tri0 Theo, Ori & Roe. They try to find the truth to their parents sudden absence. They fight with the first city leader Quinlan and his daugter Tora who has powers to call upon storm. Quinlan is the person who make people live away from their children. He snatched forcebly their off-springs and runs a system where they try to change their DNA to prepare their own kind of army.
Twin Roe & Ori who depicted as the saviour went on the perilous journey through Jungle, desert, swamps and caves to find what happened to their father and to omit out the threat posed by Menace to let them live peacefully. With the help of the magical backpack, transformation of Theo into lion and Roe's following a glowing ring to a magical blue pool to get her father's powers to help fighting her against the Menace, they resolved the trouble of every person with them. Also, they have their friends and gathered team to work on same objective, to stop Menace to make their peaceful life extinct.
There is this gripping story full of fantasy to make you live a full life in itself that have sense of friendship and family all-together.
