Description
One cruise ship, six passengers, no escape . . .
As a freelance food consultant, Ruth Morgan travels Britain, advising restaurants, cafes, and hotels on their menus and recipes. So when she’s hired to work on board the Ocean Odyssey, she looks forward to gaining her sea legs.
However, when someone throws the captain overboard on the first night, Ruth and five other mysterious passengers discover they’ve sailed into a death trap, and it’s clear the killer won’t stop.
On a ship now adrift in the middle of the ocean, with no way to call for help, the dire situation forces Ruth to dust off her amateur sleuthing skills. She wants to help her fellow guests survive through the next three days, but can she unmask the killer before she becomes their next victim?
The first in a series of absorbing whodunnits with a fun amateur sleuth. A light-hearted escape for fans of British Cozy Mysteries and female detectives, plus authors like M.C. Beaton, Faith Martin, and Richard Osman.

Could not stop reading this mystery! It had suspence, a cruise ship, quirky characters……and a cat. Nice having a mature female solving the case. Will definitely be looking for the next books in this series. Thanks to #NetGalley and #MurderOnTheOceanOdyssey for advanced digital copy.
WOW, THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING
The murder mystery was very well written. The many plottwists kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book. And the whole plot connected at the end. Amazing job!
The characters were also very likable. I especially liked the main character and her cat.
Because the language is very accessible and because there are short chapters, the book is suitable for everyone.
Definitely will recommend it to others!
I got to read this ARC book for free in exchange for an honest review. Thank you netgalley and Peter Jay black!

I am very much a fan of silly murder mystery movies, so it is no surprise that I very much enjoyed this book. Fans of the Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery or Murder on the Nile will enjoy this.
You enter the story meeting Ruth, and older lady who is a consultant of all things food/hospitality management. She is quirky and old, and seems like she would be an amazing Grandma to have. She was previously employed as a police officer, so it makes sense that she has the skills to be the main view of this story. It doesn't take long for us to meet the rest of the cast of characters, you have the colonel, the lawyer, the computer programmer, the influencer, and a model. They are described heavily in the first few pages. Which tracks with the silly murder mystery genre, but may not be everyone's cup of tea.
The storytelling is compelling, and confusing as you stumble along with Ruth trying to piece together what the heck is going on. I absolutely LOVED her cat, and the fact that she sneaked it on board the ship. Top tier Grandma thing to do.
This story definitely made my mind think as I tried to keep up with Ruth as she tried to keep track of all the moving pieces.
This whodunit story was a fun read, and I would recommend it to anyone as long as they enjoy it with a huge mug of tea and five scoops of sugar.
