Description
A delightful collection of mindfulness-based activities to help children feel calm, focused and happy.
Calm, Happy Kids is a guide to helping children learn to manage their emotions using mindfulness, meditation and breathwork. With the ideas and activities shared in the four main sections, your child will learn:
· how to calm down when restless or fidgety,
· how to focus and concentrate,
· how to feel happier when facing difficulties,
· how to prepare their mind and body for sleep
These incredibly valuable life skills are delivered in a fun, engaging way using a series of practical exercises and activities children love.
Lovingly written and delightfully illustrated, Calm, Happy Kids will suit children ages 3-7 and beyond. They’ll learn how to shake off their fidgets, do the sit still challenge, use a magic balloon to take away their worries, and much, much more.
Next time your child needs to concentrate, sit still, get a good night’s rest or feel in control of their nerves, open this book and try one of the exercises together. You’ll be amazed how powerful they are.

This book is a must have for every parent's toolbox! I love the quick ways it describes activities for kids (and parents) to be calm and chill. I see myself referring back to this gem time after time.

Thank you Netgalley and Life Raft Media Ltd for this ARC.
This book title is pretty straightforward. It's filled with meditation exercises to inspire children to be calm and happy. But it's more in depth than that. The exercises are simple but each one gives an explanation as to why and/or when it's beneficial. The author also creates these exercises with the notion that children are full of wonder and intelligence, they just happen to have a big emotions that they can't fully grasp. Which is why this book can be such an impactful resource. Children are often seen as simple and incapapble of understanding the world around which exactly what they are not. Giving children the tools to problem solve and build self control while teaching them to be expressive is invaluable. If we start them off early with these skills they learn to better control themselves as they get older while also be more self aware. Definitely passing this one on to the moms/caretakers of little ones in my life.
I love this! I am a youth mental health therapist, and I am constantly teaching my clients about mindfulness and how to find calm. These activities are definitely ones I would share with my clients, and do with my own personal children. I will definitely be recommending this book to my client's parents.
This is a fantastic book for parents, teachers or practitioners who work with children. It is full of helpful mindfulness activities to practice that will help with a variety of issues such as anxiety and panic disorders. You can dip into it at any time and use the activities in stressful situations or to prepare for them. A very useful resource.
This is a book I would purchase for parents, teachers and anyone working with kids, I loved plethora of ideas for adding calm. A treasure trove of strategies. I will be purchasing my own copy to use in the classroom.
Some great ideas and tips here, which I'm already implementing. Simple but effective. Thanks to Netgalley and Life Raft Media.
I received Calm, Happy Kids by Rob Plevin. I was very pleased at this collection of illustrations and exercises for kiddos. I work with families/kids as a therapist and I will definitely be using this as a resource in my library.
My only criticism is that I wish it were a little longer.
I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley. I will be purchasing a hard copy of this book for my practice and telling every family I meet to buy this book. Thank you for the opportunity to review this book and get it early.
I mentioned several times in my reviews how much I love books that develop emotional intelligence, quietness and meditation, especially when they are directed to children, in these simplified sentences contain the greatest ideas that will facilitate the life of their reader throughout their living, I find something that fulls me with joy and happiness.
This book details several techniques that one does to restore their calm, balance and happiness, it explains those techniques gently and simply, with beautiful illustrations! all in order to simplify and soften it for young readers. do not misunderstand though, this book is useful for children yes, but that does not prevent adults from benefiting from it! I actually find a special, whimsical magic in those children books that I often do not get a hold of in adult books on the same topic. This book will be the first on my list to buy for my future children. ^^
