Description
Lady Clare had crossed a line she feared could not be undone. Sir Iain would never allow her to refuse him now.
Lady Clare Logan is quite content with her life now—as a wealthy widow she has the means to carry out her late husband’s plans for schools and training centers for the poor children of Edinburgh and Leith. Determined to establish his legacy, Clare is stunned when a recently-knighted businessman claims the rights to properties that she plans to develop.
Sir Iain Buchanan is used to getting his own way—in business, in life and in any endeavor he tries. With plans to expand the headquarters of his burgeoning shipping empire, Iain runs into an immovable barrier known as Lady Clare. No matter what he offers, she refuses it. So, Iain feels no guilt when he resorts to the methods that successfully saved him from the gutters of Glasgow and allowed him to grow his companies until his business was known around the globe. Methods that meet with little success even while his need to seduce the appealing, beautiful, infuriating woman grows with each encounter.
What will it take to make this lady see that he will not take nay for an answer?

Cutthroat arrogance & ambition collides so sweetly with passionate determination & overwhelming temptation!
Plunged into the squalor and blood thirsty gutters of Glasgow and then straight into the bittersweet hopes and innocence of a Leith orphanage, pulled me in instantly and hinted at the strength and resilience of Iain and Clare as their worlds collided and remained forever altered. Where that spark and recognition of coming across an opponent, that can neither be underestimated or disrespected, had me intrigued and compelled to dig deeper into this pair and enjoy peeling back each tantalising layer.
I really liked A LADY'S AGREEMENT there was this pulsing desire that blurred the lines between respect and business with this intense craving of need and want, that opened up a stimulating game of wit, savvy negotiation and underhand dealings with a heady overlaying of seduction, that awakened new desires wants and needs, within our leads, that just refused to be ignored. Amassing into a sexually charged tension that radiated beneath the vulnerability, overriding struggles, guilt and uncertainty tipped passion-fueled allure as they confronted, challenged, parried, ran to and retreated from each other, until both grew so irredeemably entangled and absorbed they became the perfect foil.
As Iain, the methophorial phoenix that rose from the ashes of such hardship and cruelty, attempted to skirt the boundaries between his past life on the streets and new found nobility as he hit a deliciously tempting wall, in the shape of unconformist widow and intelligent, struggling business woman, Clare over the rites of a Leith warehouse that doesn't just optimise the accumulation of their individual dreams but the loss and struggles they amassed on the path to achieve them.
A really enjoyable, statisfying read that took me to places I never expected to go. With its well fleshed out characters and the honest, hard hitting truths, unresolved regrets, riddling guilt and seductive-meets-intimately-sweet, steam wrapped, romance, they became enveloped in.
Widowed Lady Clare Logan has great plans for her property but keeps getting blocked. The man behind all her problems is a lot more than he appears.
Sir Iain Buchanan dragged himself out of the gutters of Glasgow and made his fortune. Obviously not everything he has done is ethical.
This steamy historical romance is full of fiercely independent characters, and lots of devious deals. It's non stop action all the way through.A very exciting story that is part of a series of stand alone romances.
I loved it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it is the first one I have read by this author and I have to say it will be the first of many. It was steamy enough without distracting from the main story and I could clearly picture what Iain looked like from the description of him. I wasn’t sure if the story was going to be gripping enough at first, but it didn’t disappoint.
I enjoyed how Lady Claire was a force to be reckoned with and how much Iain underestimated her from the start, but he still kept on underestimating her at every turn expecting her to crumble.
Did she give in to her desires or did she stay strong ?? To find out you will have to read this yourself…..
