Mr. Rusin published an earlier version inOctober of 2010, and Kamel Press provided a newly edited release thispast year. We’ve sold several thousand copies, and hope that the nextbook in the Avalon series, "Avalon: Beyond the Retreat" will improvein reader engagement from the start. This first book was simply therealization of a lifelong dream of the author, who recently turned 71years old, and he’s enjoyed so much that he plans to continue writing,improving as he goes, based on valuable feedback from reviewers, suchas yourself.
Please let me be clear in saying that we are not attempting to billAvalon as the end-all, be-all, Prepper manual. It is, to be up front,an ideal setting which was the intent of the author – to describe a“dream find” to be used as a retreat. In that vein, it could best beconsidered a basic introduction to the Prepper genre and mindset,though it also provides some great survivalist tips throughout, andeven governmental philosophy in the latter part of the book.
