This is truly an emotional rollercoaster and a wild ride. For a YA I found this to lean towards a more heavy read with a lot of raw elements involved, however I really enjoyed the writing style and pacing and the premise is incredibly unique. I also especially loved the tenacity of the character Skye unlike a lot of FMC's I didn't find her annoying and you want to root for her all the way through. I think a lot of people will love this unique YA/teen romance.
I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book is about friendship, family, love, and healing. We go through the entire book with our main character Skye, and she’s been dreaming about who her real father is. I can’t go into too much detail about her dad without spoiling the surprise twist.
We have our adorable boy next door type of romance, and Sebastian was every bit the kind of man that most women wished were real. He stays by Skye’s side every step of the way, and both keep a promise to each other.
Then we have the friends that Skye met through a reality show, and we get to see Skye bond with Matt, Garrett, Amber, and Kylie.
Skye finds friendship and love as Sebastian also becomes a part of the little friendship family that Skye had unexpectedly formed.
I’m so used to books relying on romance, so it’s definitely a stand out novel for showing the joys and downs of life.
At the end I picture Skye truly finding the happiness and answers that she was looking for.
I really enjoyed this book, and I hope to see more from this author!

Thank you NetGalley for the arc!
I found this very enjoyable. For a short book, this had so many impactful messages that really translate well from the writing style. The characters are established well and each had a distinct personality.
The events in the story also really stuck in my mind and I found the big twist really heartbreaking. It made everything make sense and explained the behaviour of certain characters. I found the pacing of this to be good as well. The romance present was cute and fitting for the storyline. The ending was perfect as well!
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a book on complicated family dynamics or life difficulties.
