What a fantastic book to keep kids learning and experimenting through the summer months!

This STEAM book has great, easy to replicate ideas. The supplies needed are mostly very simple- kitchen spices, construction paper, balloons, and other household items that most homes with kids will have lying around. I saw several that I could easily set up in minutes that I know my kids will love doing, and I plan on trying several with them tomorrow.

The book also explains the science behind the activities in an easy to understand way. My kids are 6 and 8 and will be able to do the activities and understand them easily.

I hope there will be books coming for each season, and think this a perfect book for elementary aged kids to keep learning during summer break.

Thank you to NetGalley and Rosen Publishing Group for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Great illustrations, great directions, great activities that are mostly “around your home” based - which is always a win for busy folks!!! I’m always looking for new additions to our homeschool activities and these are a huge hit. I’ll be buying a copy to have for my scouts as well.

Thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for this advance copy in exchange for my opinion.

Reviewed for NetGalley:

This was a great summer activity book using interesting science and technology techniques. Was very happy to find so many activities with items I already have around the house.

Activities for younger and older kids alike, my ten year old really enjoyed the make your own paints and exploding bag activities the best.

STEAM Through the Seasons - Summer by Anna Claybourne- 5/5
Children's Fiction - Science - Crafts & Hobbies

With it being summer right now, this has been a great addition to our summer learning. Two months is a long time to go without school and I love that there are a ton of options out there to keep the kids engaged in learning and STEAM did not disappoint.

STEAM Through the Seasons: Summer edition has more than 10 different craft ideas that help connect the readers with summer information. There are step by step instructions that are easy to follow along with and they provided some illustrations.

Thank you NetGalley and Rosen Publishing Group for the eARC.

🔭 This is a great book full of fun and learning!

💿 This book is full of summer-focused crafts and experiments. The activities aren’t complicated, and they won’t require any fancy equipment or materials. You probably have everything you need in your house already! Each activity has step-by-step instructions with illustrations that are easy to understand and follow. Key concepts are discussed, and if your kiddo is interested in learning more about a particular concept there are suggestions for other activities!

🎨 This book provides a lot of fun ways to continue learning through the summer school break. But don’t just save it for summer – fun and learning can be applied during any season!

🧮 This book is 32 pages long and is targeted at 8- to 11-year-old readers. The Spring, Autumn, and Winter versions are also available.

Thank you @NetGalley and Rosen Publishing Group for an eARC of this book, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This is such a fun and colorful STEAM activity book for younger elementary kids! Featuring about a dozen simple summer-themed experiments, STEAM Through the Seasons uses everyday materials to convey various scienctific concepts. Some things are overdone (sun prints) but there are some cool new-to-me experiments, too (making "lightning"). My family and I loved that each activity had a brief but effective explanation of the concept that was being taught, and each activity also has a "What else can I do?" section to take the learning a step further.

I highly recommend this book and look forward to checking out the other seasons in this series!

Thank you to Rosen Publishing Group via NetGalley for gifting me with an advance copy to review!

Well, your first job is guessing how many books will end up being in this series. I can give a hint – when they first came out there were four. This gives us more suitable tasks than that poser, though, relating to showing simple science concepts through simple science experiments and activities. Putting things on construction paper paling under the sun's UV gives us a primitive kind of photograph of them. Salt solutions can be coloured and got to evaporate from art paper, leaving some kind of image behind as well. Oh, and we can blow things up, cook things, make ice cream, and so on. They're not all a hundred per cent seasonal, but it would be perfectly acceptable to think any of these two-page craft jobs and science tricks done best in summer. And while none of them will boost you up to the class swot status, it will instil the idea of getting hands-on science experimentation under one's belt, leaving one in good stead for when class activities get to be more serious. A strong four stars for this, then, is my scientific conclusion.

This an excellent book for caregivers, educators, or anyone who spends a lot of time entertaining young people. There are some great ideas here, and this book will help you get through the summer slump.
