Loved it! Every time I turned the page I wanted to know what was going to happen next I don’t but the book down
Loved this book! I read it in a day. It's one of those books that keeps you turning the pages long past when you should have gone to bed. While I do agree with another review that says there is a bit of repetition in some aspects, that wasn't enough to sour me on the book. This was great and I would read more from this author.
The series stands out by transporting readers to the lesser-explored Balkans. Turner's gripping narrative weaves a complex web of international politics against the backdrop of the early 2000s, enriched by her firsthand knowledge. The story's authenticity and fresh perspective on this region kept me hooked; I found myself eagerly flipping pages, absorbed in the suspenseful plot. It's a refreshing and engaging read, shedding light on a setting often overlooked in mainstream literature, making it a compelling choice for those seeking something unique and thought-provoking.
If you like fast-paced, action-adventure books with a little bit of mystery, then this is for you. It is the second book in the series and while I have not read the first I did not feel like I was lost by not reading them in order. The plot is a little different as the main character, Kit, is trying to unravel a money laundering scheme and it involves so many people across several different countries.
The characters are interesting from the start and the pace is fast the whole time, which I love. I would highly recommend this book. I am off to read the first in the series to see if it was just as good.
