A magical book mysteriously brings together an adventurous boy and a fearless firefighter.

After his parents' divorce, Noah is overwhelmed by attending a new school and making new friends. He finds a diary about a real firefighter's life-threatening missions. But this is no ordinary book, and when Noah uses this supernatural book to impress his new friend, Danielle, chaos erupts in both of their lives.

The terrifying and dangerous world of the firefighters becomes far too real when they suddenly find themselves pulled into the book itself. They must make life-and-death firefighting decisions on their own while one of the three lingers on the periphery, rendered nothing but a phantom in the mystical realm. Even worse, their presence in the story could change the firefighter's history. Forever. Now, the kids must figure out how to return to their current world without negatively altering the past—and the present along with it.
