I immediately put this to the top of my to be read pile as soon as I got my hands on it and I wasn't disappointed. I loved the cruise ship setting, the glitz and glamour, that glimpse into the world and lifestyle of the rich and famous, the complex family dynamics as well as a very multilayered complex friendship and on top of it all, plenty twists and turns and suspense!! It had me hooked from the start and was such an easy read. The writing style just pulls you along and you're sucked in before you know it. I loved the characters and the fact you never quite knew who to trust. Loved it!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.
Emily and Belle grew up together and were the best of friends. Three years ago something happened that cost them their friendship. Now Belle is married to Mattia, a much older and richer man. Emily is a single mum struggling to make ends meet. When Belle invites Emily to come along on the debut cruise of her husband’s cruise liner they try to make up for lost time. But Mattia’s five grown up children are not fans of Belle and when strange things start happening Emily is worried. There’s no way off the ship and the destination is a far way off.
I really enjoyed this. The suspense was built up slowly as each family member was set up to be the bad guy then proven not to be. The characters were all believable. I liked the flashbacks to Viola’s story, although I figured out her story very quickly. An enjoyable read.
WOW! Absolutely brilliant, gripping from start to finish, couldn't put this book down! Lots of unexpected twists and turns that kept you hooked and wanting to read on. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
Wow, you can cram a lot into five nights.
Did I guess where a lot of this was going? YES
Did I find a lot of it totally unbelievable? YES
Did I struggle to find a truly likeable character? YES
Did I ignore all that and buckle up for a wild ride that was fast paced and such good fun?
I think you know the answer.
Perfect beach read.... or sofa, or bus.
A bit of escapism where we can see richer isn't always better (and other stuff)
I really liked this story. The suspense seems to be built slowly, but we quickly change our minds. I enjoyed the flashbacks to Viola's story, although I figured out her story pretty quickly. A pleasant read. I advise.
Netgalley once again, many thanks for the opportunity to read this book.

A real dark gripping page turner - not what I expected at all from the cover and title but I absolutely loved it! Full of twists, turns and suspicion. A great holiday read.
Heart pounding thriller that left me on the edge of my seat. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. Definitely one of the best books this year.
I loved this book. I must admit it’s a brilliant beach read. It’s easy to pick up and put down. Well worth a read.
Absolutely fantastic!
great setting and characters
The plot was brilliantly paced with
Twists and turns aplenty.
I didn’t know who to trust as the
story unfolded. It was fantastic
I absolutely loved this book. The Luxurious cruise, mysterious deaths, family secrets and incoming storm all made the perfect story that kept me gripped from start to finish. So many times did I change my mind on who the murderer was I could never have guessed the real culprit. Brilliantly written with lots of twists.
An immaculately constructed 'locked room' mystery thriller.
Full of suspense and intrigue, best described as 'Succession' on the high seas.
Fast paced and fun, plot driven with bags of tension and anticipation.
Twisty, devious and atmospheric, packed full of untrustworthy characters.
I couldn't wait to get to the next chapter to see who survives.
Expertly written novel, compelling, immersive and satisfying.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley UK for the ARC.
I absolutely loved this book. The cruise, the mysterious deaths and the incoming storm kept me gripped from start to finish.
Lots of twists and turns, a great read
I kept changing my mind to who was the murderer, and I was still wouldn’t of guessed who it was
Oh I loved this so much ! It was so intense and gripping! I couldn’t put it down. It was also very unique. Full of huge secrets and lies. your can’t trust no one. Even with so many main characters they are written so well you feel like you know each one. Trying to unravel. their lies is crazy you think you have it all figured out but nope the twists start coming. The cruise ship started amazing I could literally picture my self enjoying the sun and food. The Scarmados are one interesting crazy family. Their father marries Belle who’s younger than his 3 oldest not long after their mother dies on a boat accident. Emily if Belle’s best friend but after pirates rob the ship they worked on and Belle is kidnapped for 3 days they don’t talk for 3 years. 5 days on a cruise ship will see this family and Emily go on a crazy wild ride. You just can’t put it down the craziness doesn’t stop. It’s a great mystery book they keeps you so emerged in the story you won’t be able to put it down.
Rachel Wolf's novel 'Five Nights' is an engaging thriller that takes readers on a thrilling journey through the dark and twisted Scarmado family world. The luxurious cruise ship setting adds to the book's allure, and the author's skilful weaving of multiple storylines keeps readers engaged and guessing until the end. The characters are complex and intriguing, each with their secrets and motives, and the relationships between them are explored in depth, adding an extra layer of tension and drama to the story. The pacing is perfect, with just enough suspense and action to keep readers on the edge. Overall, 'Five Nights' is a must-read for mystery and thriller novel fans, providing a thrilling and captivating read that will keep readers guessing until the end!
I don’t typically read mystery:thrillers but this book had me hooked from the beginning, I couldn’t put it down, a real page turner, kept me guessing all the way through. Will be reading more books like this in the future.
This is built on the locked room murder mystery premise but with a big difference. The locus is a luxury private yacht and those on board are there by invitation. Of course all is not as it seems. There are past differences to reconcile and secrets to be kept. The cast of characters is small, but that makes it all the more interesting. I couldn’t work out where and how it was all going to end and was taken totally by surprise by the twists and turns on the way.
Can’t say I liked any of the characters but in this case it didn’t matter because I was swept along in the moment of life aboard a luxury yacht. What a different world! It’s all very plausible and I enjoyed this bit of escapist fiction. Well drawn characters with interesting backstories and this is a page turner that kept me hooked.
Below deck mixed with real housewives turned who dun it. From scary notes and threats to multiple deaths and near misses, it’s a murder mystery on a cruise ship.
Between loving and hating the characters who were born into wealth and clearly show their discontent to “commoners” the character development is fantastic.
A rivalry between best friends who have you questioning their real intent, based on historical shared trauma.
I absolutely loved the trip 😅 this read took me on, and was left shocked time after time.
Such an easy read that I honestly couldn’t put down.
Buckle up your lifejackets and get reading!
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book. Firstly it’s the first book I’ve read by this author and it was fabulous. The character build left me wanting more and more from them and the twists were fabulous. I devoured this in a day so to say I enjoyed it was an understatement! Excellent!
This story will grab you by the seat of your pants and not let go till the end!!! I’ve got no nails left the tension was so real and I tried my hardest to work out who the baddie was and I couldn’t!!!Honestly, what a great plot!! I loved the characters, the setting, which all came together perfectly!!!
Fantastic 5 star read!!!
