I’m a writer and editor who works with new writers and ghostwriter projects on a daily basis, which often require a unique voice and near constant adaptability. As a lifelong learner, I picked up this book to both expand my knowledge and to discover fresh new ways to nurture my skills and guide new writers. This book claimed to provide tools to tune and transform your writing voice, and I found it lived up to this goal in a unique and inviting way. Lots of ideas and takeaways to implement! As always, dedication and practice are key — I skipped around and skimmed the surface, but I’m inspired to thoroughly give this a go. These tools don’t expire. 😉
I've read other of Anne Janzer's guides and like those, THE WRITER'S VOICE is concise, clear, and actionable. As a veteran writer, I learned a great deal, wishing often that I'd had this guide before I had the pleasure of using such useful, smart insight by doing it wrong. I'd suggest this guide to any writer of fiction or nonfiction as a way to communicate with your best voice. The exercises, guidance, and examples were excellent. I received a copy of this book and these opinions are my own, unbiased thoughts.
The Writer's Voice by Anne Janzer is more than just a book, it's a workbook filled with practical advice and helpful exercises that allows the reader to both absorb and implement the wisdom found within the pages. I learned so much. Highly recommend!!
Anne Janzer's "The Writer's Voice" lives up to the high standards set by her previous guides. Much like her previous works, this book is concise, lucid, and immediately actionable. Even as a seasoned writer, I found myself learning a great deal from the insightful content, often wishing I had access to such valuable guidance earlier in my writing journey to avoid common pitfalls.
I wholeheartedly recommend "The Writer's Voice" to writers of both fiction and nonfiction genres. This guide is an invaluable resource for anyone looking to harness and fine-tune their unique writing voice. The exercises, practical advice, and illustrative examples provided within its pages are nothing short of excellent.
Having received a copy of this book, I can attest that my opinions are entirely my own and unbiased. "The Writer's Voice" is a must-read for writers seeking to communicate with their audience in the most compelling and authentic way possible. It's a gem of a guide that will undoubtedly elevate your writing skills and help you craft your best work yet.
