Excellent book to cat lovers of any age, recommended for children or beginners in drawing. Various breeds, facial expressions, activities, dressed up and fantasy, there is so much. The drawing tutorials are very detailed, made really very easy for anybody. Cute illustrations and much humor.

I just loved it! Thank you NetGalley for this copy. I always wondered if a book could suffice to learn how to draw these cuties and yes I could! My 9 year old daughter could! We will go buy the printed version so we can draw again and again.. there are also lots of tips too, they really helped

Overall, I found this book to be an absolute delight, and I don't believe I've missed out on anything vital. I must admit, the section featuring cats playing dress-up was a personal favorite – utterly adorable!

By far the cutest step by step drawing book I’ve ever read. Beginning with the basic cat form body size, colors, and common poses this book then moves into cats dressed up, cat based food, cuddling cats and many more humorous and adorable designs. Perfect for beginners and lovers of cats.

This is adorable! Very easy to follow along with! The drawings are sweet, cute and following the drawings is relaxing and engaging for both adults and children. My two youngest kids (ages 4 and 8) were able to try these along with me without frustration!

Loved this book! I am the worst when it comes to being able to draw anything. This book made it so easy to follow along. While my cats may not have looked the best in the beginning they are super cute now! I would highly recommend this one especially for beginners.

This is the cutest book I have ever seen. I enjoyed learning alone and doing these doodles on my iPad. I don’t really know how to draw and this was a great place to start as a beginner. It was so easy and very in depth. I love it so much. And the cats are so adorable

Mini Kawaii Kitties is an adorable tutorial drawing guide for all ages by Olive Yong. Originally released in 2021 from Quarto on their Rock Point imprint, this second edition is due out in Oct 2023. It's 144 pages and will be available in paperback and ebook formats.

There is a sweetly whimsical innocence about these kitties which just bring the smiles. There are 75 step by step tutorials with kitties doing adorable kitty things as well as fantasy kitties (mermaid kitty, cheering kitty, kitties in costumes - so many kitties). The tutorials are arranged thematically: general introduction with basic tutorials, playtime, daily activities, being curious, playing dress up, sharing love, discovering breeds, bon appetit, and some coloring pages.

The tutorials are very simply written with small achievable steps for a surprisingly detailed finish. I am a beginner with drawing and I was able to achieve credible results with these tutorials. They're a lot of fun to do. I would heartily recommend this one for gift giving (perhaps bundled with a sketch pad and some pens/markers?), library, classroom or makers' group. I would also recommend this book to babysitters, grandparents, parents, and basically anyone who spends a fair bit of time with small kids in order to up their 'draw with me' game.

I love anything to do with cats and cute simplistic art so I had to check this out. I was really impressed with the layout, color palette and the different styles/themes to try. The steps were really helpful and not difficult to achieve. I can see this as a fun way to pass the time or to de-stress . I will definitely be practicing these adorable kitten sketches.

These kitties are adorable!! This is a fun drawing guide that is going to appeal to people of all ages. I know so many elementary school kids at our library would would love to practice drawing these mini kawaii kitties! I really enjoyed the section about discovering different breeds. It was very interesting to see each breed drawn in the kawaii style. The Halloween cat section was my favorite, on every page I would think to myself "this is the best cat" and then I would see the next sassy cat costume and think "ok THIS is the best cat!"

I put this in my cart as soon as I saw it. The illustrations are adorable and the instructions are easy to follow. While this is technically labeled as a book for adults, this is definitely a high-interest subject for children. 10/10, no notes: this book is great!

A fun drawing guide book that will have the read learn to draw 75 different kawaii kitties.

Starting with how to draw different parts of the kitties, this guide has illustrated step by step instructions on how to draw each kitty, with some ready to color pages at the end.

What an adorable little book. I found the instructions in this 'how to' to be much easier to follow compared to others in this genre - the breakdown of steps was great & very beginner friendly. I am a big cat lover, so this book was perfect for me & I absolutely adored it. I now have a sketchbook page full of adorable little fuzzies & I am OBSESSED. I will 100% be coming back to this one in the future, it's great. I also loved how the cuteness theme ran throughout the book, lots of colour & adorable illustrations. So much fun!

I love kitties, and I'm instantly drawn to anything cute. If there's another thing to know about me, I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to learn how to draw and create art. So naturally, this book is everything I love (and need). The kitties and art style are absolutely delightful, and Olive Yong does a beautiful job at teaching!

I want to emphasize how much of a beginner I am. However, the instructions were so clear I could quickly follow along. I especially loved that there was a wide variety of kitties to draw, doing different things that kitties do in all the positions with all the facial expressions. Mini Kawaii Kitties is a guide I will definitely come back to and sit down with and use as a resource as I try to learn how to draw. I'm super excited to have this in my roster of books to teach me how to draw in an art style I adore.

This has every kind of kitty you could ever want to draw, and more! The sketching instructions and illustrations are clear, simple, and easy to follow - perfect for a total beginner for me. Each one has a step by step to follow, adding more detail each time. This is a lovely book to help you bring all sorts of cute cats to life in your sketchbook. My favourite section is “Bon Appetit” - cute and delicious!

Mini Kawaii Kitties by Olive Young is a fantastic book to learn to draw with. I love the kitties when my granddaughter is learning to draw and color pictures she wants me to draw too. The illustrations make it easy.

My eight year old daughter loves this book. She enjoys drawing and was able to easily follow the instructions to do her own kawaii drawings. The book is presented beautifully and has become a favourite.

I am bad at drawing but even I can create cute kitties following these instructions. Obviously this book is kawaii, in other words über cute and you won't get any realistic looking drawings here. If this is your style though this book is amazing for kids and adults alike.

Brilliant guide to drawing Kawaii Kitties that my kids absolutely loved. The step by step guides are so easy to follow and each figure has a cute name and character! Loved it!

What a cute book! It’s perfect to help my daughter learn how to draw cats. The instructions broke down how to complete the drawings in clear easy steps. Perfect for all levels!

The instructions on how to draw these kitties are detailed enough that I could follow with no skill. My drawings were still awful, but I feel like with practice I could manage something close to what these show. There is an entire section on dinosaurs and I immediately wanted to force someone more artistic than me to draw them. The coloring pages in the back were an excellent touch. I really enjoyed it.

This was an adorable tutorial for everyone's favorite subject! Kitties!!
I loved the introductory pages that provided detailed instructions on basic features. I lack any real artistic talent and was able to draw a cute little kitty with these instructions!

The individual chapters were so fun with the costumes and food options being my favorite. My middle school and elementary aged kids are going to love this. There's something for each of them, including my personal favorite the "Catosaurus".

I love, love, love these kawaii drawing books, and this one does not disappoint! Such a cute series that helps you learn how to draw kitties in action from various angles. Teaches how to draw different breeds as well. Highly recommend!

I want to draw all the kitties in this book! I am not a natural drawer and I was never really taught or encouraged to draw as a child so this book gives my heart such joy. It is laid out so easily starting with overall general information such as drawing tools, body shapes, facial expressions and colouring the body markings. I especially appreciated the information on digital tools also being included for those who want that information.

Then the fun begins with drawing the kitties. The step-by-step instructions are easy to follow. And there is a fun collection of sections that includes cat activities, cats being curious and some drawings of cats as unicorns, bees, crepes and macarons.

This is a great book for all ages who want to doodle and have some fun.
