Payback is a mystery with a hint of romance. Hanna is finally enjoying life after the high school years. She's now a pre-med Northwestern University student. She has a summer job working for Downtown Chicago hospital After work she parties with friends taking full advantage of the city’s nightlife. All changes after she becomes romantically attracted to a handsome medical resident.

Just when life couldn’t be sweeter, Hanna is abducted by an older woman and her two adult sons. She is driven thousands of miles away to a farm in Idaho. Hanna asks her captives why she was kidnapped; she is told, “Because your father killed Charlie" (the matriarch’s husband). Hanna goes from a princess to Cinderella performing chores with little hope returning home.
