Thanks to Netgalley and Quarto publishing group for access to this Arc in exchange for my honest review.
Even if I don't have an outdoor pizza oven, I found this book so interesting ! It complete with recipes for different dough, for multiple sauces and even for calzone. The photos made the pizza look so yummy ! I am very impatient to try quite a few of them.
Hell yeah. We've been making pizza in our outdoor oven for about a year and a half and have gotten a bit in a rut. Reading through this ARC of the Epic Outdoor Pizza Oven Cookbook, I'm not just jazzed for a whole whole whole lot of pizza ideas that I haven't done yet, but even just the idea of revisiting our dough recipe, and mixing that up to suit the style. This cookbook is practically laid out, with great graphic design and photos. I love that in addition to the sections of various styles of pizza, there is a section on calzones, one on other fire-roasted dishes that can go in the outdoor oven, and even a section on the various sauces and toppings that require advance prep. Bravo!!

I don’t know the Ooni brand but perhaps that is what it seems like all my friends and book club ladies seem to have in their backyard – I first discovered this type of oven at a bagel-making workshop in Montreal and now I go to a friend’s houses to bake my bagels there. Seriously. I mean if you are dealing with me, why would I use a pizza oven to make pizza??
I love pizza and this makes me want to get an outdoor oven up here on the 6th floor, despite the fact that I can guarantee that my crazy cat would destroy it in 2 seconds flat. If you are thinking of getting a pizza oven, this book is perfect as it explains all the ins and outs and gives a bunch of yummy recipes that will have you 20 pounds heavier in no time flat and save you a wallet full of money on delivery.
Great tips, great ideas, great recipes, great book.

Just Wow! This is a fantastic Pizza Cookbook. So much information to devour whilst browsing through. Lots of tips, delicious easy to read recipes, and numerous colourful pictures.
Included are some recipes of sauces and condiments to top the pizzas with. There are also Calzone recipes as well as some fire-roasted recipes and dressings.
This book came at an opportune time as I have just purchased a beautiful gas fired Pizza oven. I love this book so much I have pre-ordered it. Only problem is I have to wait till the end of November until it releases. I would definitely recommend this book for all pizza lovers. 5* from me.
Thanks to Netgalley and Jonathon Schuhrke for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Excellent book detailing the basics of outside pizza ovens and the tools you need - not many special ones. He then moves on to the doughs - the three main types of pizza dough namely Neapolitan, classic American and so-called Artisan. The recipes themselves range from the very traditional simple Margarita through various additions of meat or vegetables. Whilst measurements are in cups first metric quantities are also given. I especially like the sections detailing how much dough to give specific sized pizzas and each recipe tells the reader what size pizza
is being constructed. Pizzas are pretty simple so the ingredients are easily available in any good shop. Photographs make recipes look fantastic. Overall a very good, well-written book to encourage and help people make their own pizzas from scratch - so much better and as easy as buying ready-made things. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy.
Forget the very cool outdoor pizza oven aspect of this cookbook for a minute. This is just a fantastic pizza cookbook. The author knows his pies. He almost comes at each recipe as a mix between an artist and a scientist. Each recipe is well thought out and explained. Add to this the mouthwatering pictures & the outdoor pizza oven instructions make this a 5 star book for me. (And I rarely give a cookbook 5 stars)
