Advance Praise

This book was truly inspirational, in oh, so many ways. Not only did the "checklist" remind us to do good things and stretch ourselves, but also a reminder that loved ones who have passed are always with us in spirit. A message I needed to hear this year. A real feel good read, just in time for the holidays. Best read by the twinkling lights of the tree, a cup of hot cocoa in hand. Merry Christmas to YOU!" Jayne Ormerod

"The Christmas Checklist is an entertaining book for two reasons!! Well written and heartfelt, the story engages the reader on several levels because they are challenged to use the checklist on their journey through the Christmas season!! We all remember our loved ones who are no longer with us during this time of year, yet the story reminds us to open our hearts and accept the chance of new love in our lives. I really enjoyed the novel and will probably read it every year to remind myself to make the most of the season!! Well Done!!" Madison

"With interesting, likeable characters and a clever storyline, this well written book gave me all the warm 'feels'. After reading it, I'm sure I won't be the only one wanting to add to this year's Holiday experience with my own Christmas Checklist." Kindle Customer

"An inspiring story of hope, love and grief. As you honor and face grief at this time of year, it shares the principals of recovery in a delightful story. I loved it! The Perfect Gift for my family members to remind them that Love is always the answer. Well written and a very enjoyable story. Highly recommended." Judy Andrews

"If you find the description of this story appealing, then you will love this book. It's an uplifting Christmas romance, and the checklist theme involves the two lead characters dealing with grief and other issues from the past, all in the course of eventually coming together. You know that's coming, of course, and a story of this nature stands or falls on the author's skill in creating well rounded, believable characters and situations that don't come across as forced or contrived. Ms. Hepner has succeeded admirably and written a thoroughly enjoyable book." Mark Moerman

Wow, this was such an amazing story. The grief Emily was going through after losing her mom was very well written but I loved the hopeful, Hallmarkish spin that was put on it. And the romance--swoon! So sweet.
This story revolves around Emily, who has recently lost her mother, and is going through some rough weeks after. She can barely get out of bed, only goes out if she is in need of food, and avoids all social activity, but when December 1st rolls around and she opens the red envelop her mother left her, things start changing in her life....for the better of course! Her mother left her a Christmas List of 12 activities to do to get her in the spirit of Christmas and out of the depression that she was stuck in. At first, Emily doesn't want to do any of it, but decides she could at least start with donating clothes to charity and it's there that she meets Noah, who works for the local paper and is looking for a good Christmasy story to help him win a permanent position on the paper.
They connect instantly and Emily decides to let Noah help her with her Christmas List and they spend the next few weeks working their way through the list as they fall in love with each other.
This is such a cute story and I love the hopeful nature of this book, we definitely need more of this in the world! The author provides a copy of the Christmas List at the back of the book and encourages readers to take on this challenge for the holidays. I know I will be!
