Description
Groblins live deep in the heart of the Great Forest and very few people know they exist.
Despite the fact Grum is only a young groblin his two brothers throw him out of his home and tell him he has to go away and prove that he’s brave before they’ll let him back. Grum decides that the best way to do this is to go and find a human and bring it back home. Along the way he meets Burlington bear (Burly to his friends), who takes him under his paw and together they go to town! They soon get into trouble and along the way discover cupcakes, carnivals, kittens and what humans are really all about. But will Grum manage to convince his brothers that he's brave?

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the Burly & Grum tales to my 7-year old son. The stories are dynamic, funny and very well written. They don't patronise or dumb down children which I often find is the case with kids stories. I'd love to read more like these!

I was unable to put this book down after the first few pages got me completely hooked. Kate Tenbeth's story is absolutely charming and I can't wait to read this to my goddaughter because it's so entertaining. If this was merely a good read, I would have given it 4 stars, but they say great art leaves you changed after you experience it and this book's illustrations are gorgeous. Every home should have a Burly Bear. Kate Tenbeth has, with one amazing work, propelled herself into the publishing world. Stuart Wakefield

Author Profile:
I live in Essex, UK with my son who is studying at University and my two cats Puzzle and Bud. I’ve always loved writing – I can’t stop! I’ve met many incredible people through writing, learnt a huge amount and had opportunities I’d only ever dreamt of – visiting schools and talking to children, running writing workshops at children’s bookshops and libraries – it’s been wonderful and I want to continue to write and work hard and build on what I’ve done so far, life’s too short to be sitting at home!
