Description
From the IPPY-award-winning author of The Almost Lovebirds.
Opposites attract in this sweet holiday rom com—but will this small-town sweetheart and her mysterious new neighbor be a perfect match or a recipe for disaster?
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…unless you’re me.
Hold the hayrides, keep your cocoa, and don’t put me within a country mile of mistletoe. This year, Christmas means chaos. My sister’s getting married and I—Gwen Griffin, perfectionist extraordinaire—will make sure her wedding is flawless. That includes doing the impossible: finding myself a wedding date. But in my tiny hometown of Jasmine Falls, South Carolina, I’ll have better luck winning the lottery.
I may be awesome at running my cafe, but I’m terrible at men. And after my last epic breakup, everyone in town knows it. That’s why I need a plus-one—even a fake one—so that when my sister gets married, everyone’s attention is on her, where it belongs.
The guy next door is perfect for the job. Gorgeous and charming, Logan Fyfe is only here for a few weeks. He’s also a hot Scottish bazillionaire who’s totally out of my league—so my risk of falling into a relationship with him? Less than zero.
Pretending to date Logan is the perfect plan—until it isn’t. Beneath his devilish smirk and delicious brogue is a big-hearted man who makes me feel the one thing I never believed to be true—that I’m enough, just the way I am.
With the wedding approaching, there’s nothing fake about my feelings anymore. When he slips his arm around my waist and whispers into my ear? Yeah, I’m a goner.
We may be worlds apart, but I’m done pretending. It’s time to get real…even if it means risking my heart.
Author’s Note: If you like sweet, closed-door romantic comedies with plenty of sizzling chemistry and laugh-out-loud banter, then welcome to Jasmine Falls! Each book in the series can be read as a standalone and has a guaranteed HEA.

Wow! This book is absolutely amazing. The descriptions are so touching and vivid. As soon as I started reading it I couldn't put it down. I recommend this book to every other reader out there.
YAY Christmas stories. This was adorable, fun and sweet. Gwen and Logan were so charming together and I truly enjoyed their romance. This just made me so ready to celebrate the holidays.
Gwen is a bakery owner in small town Jasmine Falls who has trouble asking for help. Logan is visiting to escape his family and attend an old friend’s wedding. When Gwen needs a date to her sister’s wedding to keep her mom off her back, Logan is up for the job.
This cute, small town, fake dating romance was a quick and easy read that I couldn’t put down. Gwen and Logan are so relatable and Lucy Day makes you feel like you’ve known them forever.
I’m excited to read the rest of the Jasmine Falls stories!
I really, really liked this! It was my first Christmassy romance read of the season, and I was not disappointed.
Gwen is a small-town bakery owner who cannot seem to get things right. She feels like a constant source of disappointment to her mother, she's unlucky in love, and feels stuck. Her sister is getting married, and she is afraid that all attention will be on the fact that her own wedding fell apart the year prior. Enter Logan...a big, hot Scotsman who is in town for her sister's wedding, and also happens to be running from his own family burdens.
I adore a good fake-dating trope, and this one was so sweet. Logan and Gwen had the perfect awkward meet-cute, and although the timeline of their romance felt a little rushed for me, it also felt natural. I also love the small town setting where everybody knows everyone else's business, as it's very accurate! I feel as though the characters were written well and realistically, and Gwen is particularly relatable--her plus size figure, her family struggles, and not feeling as though she's worthy really struck a chord with me. While Logan is from a wealthy family, his character is written in a way that is not haughty or flaunting it constantly, which I appreciated. They had great chemistry and the tension could be felt without it being explicit.
Overall a really enjoyable, closed-door holiday romance!
this is such a sweet, tender, fun, heartwarming story! Gwen and Logan have an instant chemistry that becomes a lovely friendship and deep connection. I loved seeing them both lean on each other, even as it went against their grain, to overcome familial toxicity and stress and unreasonable expectations. both Gwen and Logan have the biggest kindest hearts, and people in their lives have taken advantage of that. Logan’s vacation to Gwen’s small town was him learning to take care of himself while still loving his family and cutting out the toxicity, which ultimately helps helps him show Gwen how to do the same. the way Logan shows Gwen what a healthy love and support looks like is so heartwarming.
I loved the side story of Gwen’s sister standing up for herself and Gwen as well. just overall a fun, sweet, tender story of love and acceptance
thank you for the arc :)

This book has everything! Such a great Christmas book. And let me just say, Logan might be my new favorite book boyfriend(don’t judge, he’s amazing)
It’s my first book my Lucy Day but will not be my last.
One Sweet Holiday is book 3 in the Jasmine Falls Love Stories series by Lucy Day.
After reading and absolutely loving OSH I’m now on a mission to get the two previous titles in this series.
This is a fantastic, small town, holiday rom-com with characters I loved the minute I met them! I love how the author immediately made me feel “at home” while reading this one and the entire story left the biggest smile on my face!
I loved being in the small town of Jasmine Falls, South Carolina.
The descriptions were just amazing and our characters Gwen and Logan were fun, engaging and so entertaining.
I adored all the characters, this is the kind of book that just leaves me feeling happy.
I really liked how she writes the most fun character interactions. It was great watching it all unfold.
I highly recommend this to anyone who loves the small town, fake-dating, opposites attract trope with laugh-out-loud banter.
I would like to thank NetGalley and Blue Crow Publishing for the opportunity to read this ahead of its publication date in return for my honest review.
This was such a cute holiday romance. I enjoy a good spicy book as much as the next person but it was refreshing to read a romance that doesn’t focus on the spice.
Gwen is a cafe/bakery owner in small town Jasmine Falls. Gwen is a perfectionist, refuses to ask for help, & is way too hard on herself. With her Sisters wedding just around the corner she is desperate to find a plus one to take, if only to get her mom off her back.
Enter Logan Fyfe the hottie Scot Bazillionaire who is renting the house next door to escape his family for the holidays.
I think I related so much to Gwen in so many ways that made this read special for me. Themes of setting boundaries, asking for help, putting yourself first, listening to your heart and going for what you want. It was also very refreshing to have two individuals communicate open and honestly with one another. The miscommunication tropes really get under my skin sometimes.
The book is written in dual POV Gwen & Logan.
Tropes: insta love, opposites attract, fake dating
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Such a cute hallmarkesque read!
Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: closed door
I really enjoyed this book!! It was the perfect combination of witty, fun, relatable characters, small town antics, and a slow burn friends-to-lovers romance.
I loved every antic in this book, every twist and turn, every word that had me questions what was going to happen next!! And the characters OMG! The characters really made this book!
I loved Gwen! She was absolutely one of the most relatable characters I’ve read this year! From having family members who feel the need to knit pick her every movement in life, to herself feeling like even with the success she has it just isn’t enough, and if she slips for even a moment it will all come crashing down. Even while feeling this way though she still manages to be there for friends, family, and her towns people whenever they’re in a pinch all with a smile on her face!! And watching her grow throughout the novel!! I just loved it all! Then of course you had the Scottish heartthrob with a heart of gold?! I mean how could anyone not love Logan! I mean he loves his family, he’s down to earth, has an accent, and calls Gwen love and gorgeous!! Who doesn’t love that? All while having her back whenever she needed him. He really was just the perfect companion for Gwen, he was willing to let her have the space she needed to grow while still assuring her he was a soft place she could land when she needed her. Not to mention every character in this book was hilarious!!
Overall, this was such a fun and cute read that I would highly recommend for anyone who likes, sassy but working on themselves MFC, supportive and prince like MMC, and slow burn friends-to-lovers romance with an epic payoff!!
The book was the perfect way to kick off my holiday romcom reading. The themes in the book offered so much depth and insight into the characters that I have not often been able to find in books. I am a therapist and I thoroughly loved reading about the characters' struggles - it made me feel less alone as a human and I could see it making so many other people feel less alone. It almost felt like a therapy session at times - in the most amazing way. The characters were just so real.
First of all thank you Netgalley and Lucy Day for giving me this ARC in exchange of an honest rewiev.
In my search for Christmas-themed books for an Instagram post I accidentally came across this book and the truth is it is one of the best things that could have happened to me.
This book was so good and I didn't I would love it as much as I did.
Gwen and Logan are just too adorable, I just want to hug and protect them at all cost.
Gwen is this female character, who is an independent and hard-working woman, she feels that she is bad at romantic relationships and a failure since she has never been able to meet the high standards that her mother has always set for her. After her failed engagement last year and with pressure from her mother to get a date for her sister's wedding, she finds herself in this situation that she never expects.
To get her mother to stop bothering her, her sister comes up with the great idea of her pretending to have a relationship with Logan, her fiancé's Scottish friend who is only in town for a short time. It sounds like the perfect plan but not everything is what it seems. The more time Gwen and Logan spend together, they begin to realize that they are more similar than they thought and their true feelings grow more and more.
Can I just say how much I love Logan? Like how is he's so perfect and adorable, he's always taking care of her, listen and suporting her. You can totally see how hard he falls in this book and I enjoyed too much.
Another thing I really loved was that it had both PO'Vs of our main characters and the fact that the book doesn't have explicit sex scenes was a lovely surprise too, I'm all for smutty books but from time to time I want a story comtemporary romance story that it's just romance and cute scenes.
If you're for a christmas romance com without a 3rd act break up, this is totally the book to pick this season.
This is my first read from Lucy Day. One Sweet Holiday is just that - a sweet holiday romance. The book is set in Jasmine Falls, South Carolina at Christmas time. You get all the small town Christmas traditions and a sexy Scottish hero. Gwen is a local baker preparing for her sister's wedding festivities. Logan is a wedding guest looking for a quiet getaway to figure out some family issues. Logan ends up next door to Gwen. Gwen and Logan are wonderful together. Neither are judgmental and both support each other. Gwen is able to work through her issues with Logan's help and Gwen is able to provide the support that Logan needs. Everyone should have a Logan in their life. Overall, this is a lovely book that makes you feel that everyone deserves their own HEA.
The opposites attract in this story was perfection! Logan was so sweet from the start and I couldn't get enough of his scenes in this book. Gwen I wanted to wrap up on a hug throughout this story too. Set on the background of the holiday season, I couldn't put this book down! I enjoyed Lucy Day's writing and characters and am going to read her previous books. Thank you to NetGalley and Blue Crow Publishing for an advanced copy! All thoughts and opinions are my own!
Small town, fake dating trope at its best!
Gwen is a small town bakery owner who is need of a date for her sisters wedding. Enter Logan, the handsome Scotsman who is up for the role.
Set against a Christmas backdrop, this is a fun and easy going romcom that has real depth too.
The characters feel real and relatable and Gwen and Logan’s chemistry is perfect. Logan is definitely going to appear on a few booksta boyfriend lists!
A great seasonal read.
Swoon worthy! Oh my, I loved this book so much! It didn't feel like just another holiday book with the same cringe hallmark concept. The characters had beautiful depth and the twist felt natural. It has an actual plot instead of the normal short holiday books. It is a slowww burn but has the happiest of endings.
