A lonely single-parent boy drawn into a web of evil by a murderous sociopath.
Fourteen-year-old Karl Parker has already seen too much of life. After the death of his father, his grieving mother turned to heroin, leaving Karl to fend for himself and try to look after her.

Omg get this on Netflix, it's a creepy, mind twisting thriller. Even though the main character is a young boy this is not a ya novel, it's definitely up there with some of the best books of this year, really enjoyed it 5 stars.

Review:
An extremely well-written, fast-paced thriller with tension building page by page. The characters spring to life: Karl, the bullied 14-year-old and his hopeless, drug addict, prostitute mother, and also Harris, whose cold calculations shine through with evil intent.
Strong emotions come to the fore when reading of the characters' bravery, struggles and fights, and the ending is superb.
