Description
Most artifacts of the past have a well-known history. Others have secrets buried deep within local legends and folklore.
Can the secret of an old southern legend be unearthed without mystical intervention? Only one expert can expose the truth.
Birmingham, Alabama 2016
On a trip to the countryside in search of historical relics, young researcher and esteemed historian, Dr. Neely Shaw, discovers a brittle and tattered envelope in what remains of an abandoned old farmhouse in rural Alabama. Inside is a letter dated 1907 nominating a circa 1883 phantom hotel for a listing on the National Register of Historic Places.
Skeptical but eager to gain more information about the hotel, Neely wants to take on the strange project. She wants to learn the origin of the strange letter and the location of the old hotel, but it isn't located on any Alabama map. And that's all the way back to 1875!
But when Neely delves deeper into the history and location of the hotel, mystical occurrences, ghostly sightings, and strange hallucinations interfere with her research and she fears the project will be completely disrupted as well as her grasp on reality.
In this story of the mystique of 'enchanted eventide,' bestselling author Jaye Burke returns with a novel of time travel, mystery, romance, and vivid descriptions of the spectacular beauty of rural Alabama.

"Let me tell you, I cried my eyes out while reading this book. Happy tears, luckily, but also a few sad tears at the end. While reading this book, I really had the feeling that I was discovering everything about this place and these people. I also had the idea that I actually felt all these people's emotions. It felt as if I had a connection with them. I am so in love with the characters; by the way, they felt so real that I almost tried to google them. I would 1000% recommend to read this book. It's currently available through Netgalley, and otherwise, this book's release date is 9 April 2024...."
