Wow wow wow! What a book! Geez I stayed up all night to finish this book but I don't even know how ill sleep after this one!! My poor heart is still pounding lol This book had everything! It had high suspense, action, kidnapping, murder, sadistic serial killer, an absolutely shocking never guessed psycho, but fantastic who done it! Great police work, a little added psychic help that was fantastic! And some CRAZY twists and turns! The storyline was just so interesting it had me glued to my kindle! I couldn't put it down! I highly recommend reading this book! It was well worth reading! One of my top favorites! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me! I will definitely be looking for more from this author!
This was a good read. It kept me on the edge of my seat, wondering what was going to come next. I really like how this author did multiple pov's! It was interesting to see where everyone's head was throughout the book. I was fast paced and easy to read. I loved the set up before Joelle's disappearance, it really reeled me in to the rest of the story! There were so many twists that I didn't see coming.. The ending was kind of blah. I was expecting something big and out there, to match the rest of the book...
A mystery on the lake of uncertainty is brewing…. Must solve the puzzle to solve the mystery. Plot twists and curves.
"Otherwhere" by Andrea Smith is a fabulous novel. I got a free copy of the book through NetGalley. I am grateful for it. It was absolutely riveting. I had put the book down because of the holidays. If I had a choice, I wouldn't have put it down at all. Had there not been a Christmas holiday, I am positive I would have finished this in two days. I didn't want to put it down.
Imagine being married to a philandering &%#$#&^ of a husband with two children to think about. Living in a nice house, in a nice area, with nice neighbors, and working two different jobs all seem normal, good even. It all changes once Joelle sees a psychic.
When you think you guessed who did it, you encounter another twist. I don't want to give away the ending, so I'll stop there, but it is a must-read for anyone who loves these mysteries. You get to know and love the characters. You care what happens with the characters, love or hate them. The pacing is just right. The twists and turns keep you coming back for me and keep you thinking. I highly recommend this book.
"Otherwhere" by Andrea Smith is an enthralling novel that captured my attention from the very beginning. I was fortunate to receive a copy of the book through NetGalley, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity. The story's gripping narrative made it difficult for me to set the book aside, and had it not been for the holiday season, I would have eagerly finished it in just a couple of days.
The protagonist, Joelle Lawton, finds herself navigating the complexities of marriage, motherhood, and a demanding career, all while contending with the fallout of her personal loss. As the plot unfolds, a visit to a psychic sets off a chain of events that unravel the seemingly normal facade of her life, plunging her into a thrilling mystery that kept me on the edge of my seat.
What sets this novel apart is its ability to constantly surprise and challenge the reader's assumptions. Just when I thought I had the mystery figured out, the story took unexpected turns, keeping me thoroughly engaged until the very end. The depth of character development made me genuinely invested in the outcomes, and the pacing of the narrative was impeccably balanced.
For fans of mystery novels, "Otherwhere" is an absolute must-read. Andrea Smith has crafted a story that intricately weaves together compelling characters, intricate plot twists, and a sense of urgency that keeps readers guessing until the final pages. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone who appreciates a well-crafted and captivating mystery that will linger in the mind long after the last page has been turned.
Simmering below upper middle class suburbia, is obsession, infidelity, manipulation, secrets, and Iies - and oh right, murder. Tense and complex mystery that will keep you guessing to the very end. You are almost part of the investigation as background and suspects are followed the days before the crime, all with motive - some intertwined. Everything unfolds at a good pace, and the resolution is satisfying, but does leave a question ...
This was a interesting read. Otherwhere kept me on the edge of my seat and I liked hearing the story through multiple POVs! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy!
I Started this book thinking this was something more like a entry into parallel dimension or something of the sorts, but not really, its more like a dive into real crime, and let me be honest this is frightening. Let me explain, woman is having problems in her personal life, she trusts people she know in real life, and she is abducted by someone she trusted, ends up that the person that abducted her, this is not the first time, and what happens with the people this person abducts they simply vanish (even more scary).
I wont spoil the story, but while its written in a simple way, things make sense and the story flows very well, we have a a time line, that goes before the crime, where all the suspects were during the crime, what really happened and after the crime. And this is scary, just the thought that someone could disappear this way and at the same time being so close to home is scary…
I recommend this book to fans of true crime and thrillers, its a fast read, the pages just flew by.
Thank you Netgalley and BooksGoSocial for the free ARC and this is my honest opinion.
