Description

For Serena Otaki, free-spirited Californian, life is simple. She loves smashing atoms at The Large Hadron Collider near Geneva, Switzerland. She loves Star Trek, spicy tofu, and her cat, Captain Purrk. She loves her messy (slob-fest) apartment, her chaotic brand of organizing, and staying permanently, happily unattached.

Life is perfect. She has one true love—physics.

Loving a man isn’t in her future.

For Henry Joule, uptight Brit, life is simple. He loves making analog black holes, drinking piping hot tea, and organizing his pencil tray. He loves his family, red meat, and obsessively cleaning his spotless apartment.

Life is perfect. He has many loves—physics, family, friends. He can’t wait to find the woman of his dreams.

Love and marriage are in his future.

One perfect night Serena and Henry meet. Sparks fly, particles collide, the universe comes to a halt, and…

It was a mistake.

They’re too different.

It won’t work.

Love isn’t in their future.

Until an electric storm causes an unexpected event at the particle collider and suddenly—they’ve switched.

Serena is in Henry’s body.

Henry is in Serena’s body.

And both life and love are suddenly very, very complicated.

For Serena Otaki, free-spirited Californian, life is simple. She loves smashing atoms at The Large Hadron Collider near Geneva, Switzerland. She loves Star Trek, spicy tofu, and her cat, Captain...

Thank you, Sarah Ready and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this early.

They say you never know someone until you walked a mile in their shoes. Well, Serena Otaki, double-doctorate physicist who works smashing atoms at the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva, is about to know Henry Joule really really well. They met 437 days ago (or so) at The Cock and Bull, had an earth shattering one night stand that scared the bejesus out of Serena (who falls in love at first sight? Not her, for sure!), specially when she finds out he's about to be her new boos at the lab. So she does the reasonable thing to do: friendzones the crap out of him.

Henry was equally thunderstruck by his encounter with Serena and doesn't understand why she suddenly went out of her way to hurt him. Now, they've been working together for more than a year in a most civilized manner... until the Universe (capital U) has plans for them.

One night, one thunderstorm, one anomaly in the lab and - boom! - they wake up in each other's bodies! And with those bodies come feelings and memories... Henry has to attend his brother's wedding that weekend, so Serena has to go, posing as him and him posing as his girlfriend.

Now they're walking a mile in each other's bodies - will Serena understand that love can, indeed, be wonderful? Will they ever switch back?

This one was lovely! So much fun to read/listen to this geeky Freaky Friday! I loved all the scienc-y stuff (former woman in STEM here) and it's so romantic! And funny!
