Down-to-earth stone mason John Townsend had never considered these questions until he met the ghost of Penny Peverell, whilst renovating an Elizabethan mansion. Warm to the touch, Penny wasn’t your typical spectre; she felt like a real living woman… and kissed like one too!

Hopelessly in love with a woman long since dead, John is perplexed by Penny’s constant vanishing, wondering where she has gone, and why? But as Penny’s life is played out during the English Civil War, John must reconcile his strange infatuation with his present-day life and girlfriend, who now lives in what was once Penny’s manor house.
