The detailed illustrations explore different themes from a global Queer community, including:
- World History: Look for non-binary legends and lore, queer kings and queens, the pioneers who shook off convention.
- Pop Culture: Search for celebrities who have graced the stages and pages of queer culture from allies like Beyoncé and trailblazers like Oscar Wilde—plus sporting heroes, TV and films, musicians, influencers, writers, and much, much more.
- Celebrations: Locate pride events from around the world with historic landmarks, holiday destinations, and queer venues past and present.
- Protest: Find the activists, politicians, and other agents for change that continue to fight for equality and acceptance.
From Madonna to Heartstopper, Drag Race to Virginia Wolfe … open this book to seek-and-find the people, places, and things that have made our world fabulously fluid and rainbow-colored.

A beautiful read to see the history of Pride and love and to see the progress being made in the name of love.
What a beautiful celebration of queer and trans history! The artist's illustration style is distinctive and playful. I was pleasantly surprised that the book featured many queer and trans people of colour, including cultural references outside of North America. There was also representation of trans and nonbinary people. Overall, a delightful read that I'd love to share with my queer and trans youth!
Such a cute book. I cannot wait for a physical copy. I love that they don't start at Stonewall but farther back in history. It has Where's Waldo vibe but with more stuff to look for. I even learned some stuff that was new!
This seek and find is gorgeously illustrated. The facts on every page are extremely informative and give a bigger picture to the LGBTQ+ community. The images were hard enough to find that it was a perfect challenge. I will read again.
Oh my goodness this was fabulous! What a fun way to learn about the queer community. There's literally so much to be proud of.
The seek and find is high quality, with bright, clear, cute pictures, and there was so much information.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this
Oh my goodness! This is sooo iconic!! I am so happy I found this & requested it. This was such a cozy & fun time. I really enjoyed the artwork & the way this was structured. The informative blurbs before seeking & finding was very nice element. Highly recommend for my fellow queers & allies. This is perfect for a flight/road trip or even a gift exchange.
Cheers!
Thank you to the author/illustrator, publisher, & to NetGalley for providing me a copy in exchange for my honest review!
Wow, what a wonderful piece of art. This just shows the power that can come when we work together and uplift one another. I think this book is perfect in every way. It showcases queer terms and history, media, the like. I would definitely want a physical copy one day
Thank you NetGalley, Quarto Publishing Group – becker & mayer!, and Epic Ink for this fabulous arc!
5/5 stars!
This was a fun and educating seek and find! I loved doing these as a kid, and I'm absolutely loving that this one is for adults - and is a little difficult at times too! The art is so fun and colourful, this will be great to sell in my store during Pride month!
A beautifully and playfully illustrated seek and find book filled with short descriptions of iconic events, people and places involved in queer history. This is an excellent tool to introduce the topic of Pride to children as well as adults, and makes learning fun. Each page is dedicated to a specific time in history and this allows for a detailed illustration as well as short blurbs about the major historical figures. This also creates space for icons and pop culture references to keep each page light, fun and full of information. The illustrations are fabulously done and I specifically enjoyed searching for Achilles embracing Patroclus and Cher! The glossary is well thought out and easy to read/understand. As an adult I would have this book on my coffee table and as a bookseller I would encourage teachers and schools to have this book on hand as an activity/learning device.
This is a fun and unique take on seek-and-find books! I loved learning more about queer history! I think this format will really resonate with younger readers and could be a great educational tool.
Thank you for the advanced copy.
What a beautiful book this is, starts back earlier than stonewall. Cannot wait to purchase a physical copy of this
A coworker sent me the link for this, thinking it would be something I would be interested in adding to our children's section.
While the content is absolutely fine for children, as is the level of information given, the text is clearly directed at adults ("we all grew up with", etc.) Sadly we don't have a place for look and finds outside our children's room (nor is there really demand for the past age 8 or so), so this likely won't find it's way into our library. It doesn't mean I won't consider giving it as a gift though!
Educational and interactive. There was a lot of great information, presenting in a clear and concise manner. And finding the key figures in the illustrations is a great way to reinforce learning.
A fun learning experience!
This book was so much fun! It's beautifully illustrated and also so educational! I wasn't expecting to learn so much about queer history so was pleasantly surprised with how much information was packed into this search-and-find adventure. Each scene had a range of historical figures and iconic items to find which really ensured that the information wasn't overwhelming. I'll definitely be picking up a physical copy on release as I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Huge thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for providing me with an ARC of this book.
Where's Waldo but for the gays! What a fun and colorful seek and find! Takes you through the years and into the arts and entertainment. Fun for adults and kids
This is a beautifully laid out celebration of queer history and love. I can't wait to see the physical copy.
This was such a fun hide and seek book! The first few searches are queerness through the ages, and then it goes into other fun scenes. I loved the variety of things to search for plus all the imagery. So fun!
i have already done the first few pages of this cutie book and wow, i love it! i took a course at my college that reminds me of what i learned in this book. i LOVED the key before going into the fun scavenger hunt and carrying out the historical teachings of gender and sexuality. i loved the inclusion and teaching this fun guide brought to its audience. i would recommend to any from mid-elementary school and up (i think this book is fun at any age and its not too difficult, its more about what you are learning from it). The representation within these pages is vast and i hope to find something like this again!
It's like Where's Wally went to a pride parade! Each search page features queer figures from throughout history, from gods of ancient civilisations to modern pop and TV icons. Each page is full of fun illustrations to keep you engaged as you scour over them in search of the special figures.
It's so fun to have a pride themed seek and find activity book like this!
Thank you to the publisher for putting this up on Netgalley. I'll definitely be looking to get myself a physical copy once it's published.
Thank you author, illustrator, publisher, and NetGalley for providing me with an eARC of this book!!
This is awesome! I love the drawings and the bright color palette! My favorite thing about this is how much you learn along the way! There’s so much information about the queer community in a fun packaging. And I loved I spy books as a kid so I loved this!
This is so cute. I want it for my coffee table. I'm not sure that it's for children-- the text seems like a lot for kids of the usual Where's Waldo age-- but queer adults will delight in the nostalgia of the format. Maybe I'll bring it to show my GSA teens and see if it's a hit with them.
This seek-and-find was very fun to do, loved the info I learned along the way. I definitely want to get a physical copy as reading it on my phone wasn’t the best way to experience it.
What a fun book! If you love learning queer history and grew up obsessed with Where's Waldo?/I Spy, you need to check this out. The art is beautiful and it is an interactive way to learn about queer figures and symbols of the past and present. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!
This book is a colorful array of fun! It blends history with pop culture seemlessly. I truly enjoyed diving into each page and finding each treasure hidden within. What a fun and unique way to celebrate the LGBTQ culture!?!
I have always loved seek & finds!! What a fun, creative, engaging way to learn about our community’s history! I love how after all of the puzzles there are common definition & flag meanings! I even learned more about myself and how I identify, giving me reassurance and a more sense of self.
This is a fun and engaging way to learn more about LGBTQ+ history and culture. The illustrations and cute and eye-catching. Each scene features a key that teaches abouut the history and then readers are encouraged to find the icon in the scene. A fun twist on the familair 'Where's Waldo" series. I especially love that the rainbow flag is hidden in each of the seek and find scenes.
Books like this provide information, encourage tolerance and inclusivity and instill pride in members of the community. I love it!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Well this is the best version of Where’s Waldo I’ve never seen. Pride - Adventures through History in the Queer Community takes us through different periods of time, giving us a list of characters we are to find after providing detailed backgrounds of each, along with a standardized unicorn/rainbow/butterfly on each illustration. Let me tell you.. I couldn’t switch the page until I’d located everything.
While taking us through different time periods, the illustrator also takes us through a few special parts of our community, such as activism and struggles, but also in the way we spend holidays and the allies we have in our lives. I could see this spread open on a coffee table with a few of my friends as we tried to find all the items in a scene. Very well done.
I was provided with an ARC of Pride: A Seek-and-Find Celebration: Adventure Through the History of the Queer Community in exchange for an unbiased review. I found this book immensely enjoyable. It cleverly combines the concept of a search-and-find book with informative content about LGBTQ+ terminology and individuals. This unique approach offers an engaging way to delve into LGBTQ+ history and contemporary issues. I highly recommend this book for personal exploration, and it would also serve as a valuable resource for teaching inclusive history and related subjects.
I truly appreciate the existence of this book. I LOVED seek-and-find books when I was a child and I sure would have loved getting my hands on this. It normalises LGBT+ identities in a very age approbiate way and I would 100% buy this if I end up having kids.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this book for free in exchange for my review! All opinions are my own.
This book exceeded my expectations because going into it I thought it was just a seek & find book. It is so much more than that! This is such a fun way to learn about LGBTQ+ history while having fun while doing so. The illustrations were very cute.
Where's Waldo but even more fun, gayer and full of great people and lgbtq history. It could have been gayer, I agree, but I had a lot of fun with this book nonetheless.
I had so much fun finding the items in each page! It's a thought out and well crafted book, not just in terms of the drawings and composition (I wasn't expecting it would take me a while to find everything) but also because of the stories and characters presented in each layout.
I'm glad I decided to pick this book, since I hadn't engaged with a seek-and-find book since I was a child. We should have more of these for adults, too!
What a great way to learn about lgbtqia+ history and culture. I loved all the illustrations and designs!
This book is so cute and fun! I loved the illustrations and I learned a lot. A definite must have for the library!
Pride: A Seek-and-Find Celebration is both educational and fun! It's a short book (only about 33 pages) that start off with learning about queer historical figures... and then setting them amidst a landscape of their era (ish) so you can find them in the crowd! This is really cute and I'm glad it exists.
Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – becker & mayer! | Epic Ink for the eARC in exchange for review!
This was a really fun and colorful seek-and-find book. It's honestly been ages since I've done a book version of these, though I do still play app variations of these puzzles from time to time! I also loved the informative side of this book too, and think its such a fun and exciting way to showcase queer history and pride. The art style was super fun, and the range of people and object to search for was amazing. I definitely want to see more books like this!
Brilliant! Humorous, clever and fun settings, funny and sometimes renowned characters accompanied by information.
The colours and the style are amazing, Hello J-Lo, Cyndie Lauper and Dan Radcliffe. Hello Frida Kahlo, Nutcracker, Gay Mean Girls. Hilarious, child and family friendly book.
I'm writing this review before I've even finished it solely because I feel my love for this 'Where's Waldo' meets LGBTQIA+ gift is just too good. I have loved the in depth educational pages just as much as I've enjoyed going through and finding every little character. This will be a staple in my home from now on and an immediate purchase for thoughtful gifts for friends. Diego Blanco created a beautiful masterpiece, and I will be revisiting it often.
