This book was great for its genre and for a younger crowd. Think Twilight vibes. There is love, drama, secrets, and werewolves. I will say there are a ton of unanswered questions and the book ended very abruptly. I hope the following books in the series reveal more sooner!

Rebecca Torrellas's Howl at the Wind is the first book in the Howl series. This book starts off the series with a group of young werewolves about to change into their wolf form for the first time, among whom are the Alpha's son, the she-wolf he is dating, and his human best friend that was raised by werewolf and has loved him her entire life. The she-wolf expects to become the next Luna when the Alpha's son changes and recognizes her as his mate, however he doesn't do as she plans. As he drives his best friend home, he shows her that she is his mate and he's breaking things off with the she-wolf at the very next opportunity., only she doesn't take it very well, making it a very public spectacle and even tells his parents which causes more problems for him and his true mate.

The Alpha and Luna do everything in their power to separate their son from his mate, a girl they treated like a daughter as she grew up, giving no reason for their behavior or actions. Even when the Alpha's son is able to give evidence against their statements or beliefs they only become more filled with anger and hatred until they finally threaten to banish her from the Pack Only that doesn't work out as they thought it would because the Alpha's son and his mate's adopted mother, the Pack Doctor, both said if she's banished they will be leaving with her.

Ms. Torrellas covers such topics as lying, secrets,,prejudice, loyalty, friendship, and love in such a creative way, creating a new world readers can't help but get lost in for a couple of hours. The excitement and non-stop action are enough to keep the readers on the edge of their seats, only to come to a dramatic halt and be told to read book two to see what happens next.
