Description
During the World War, Major Michael Malone leads a covert intelligence unit in the fight against Germany. He’s stunned to learn his brother has turned traitor to the United States and is murdered by his co-conspirators. Haunted and bitter, Michael is driven to hunt down the masked men responsible, but eight years later, answers remain elusive.
While investigating a German singing society, his best friend is found dead. Michael reunites with the men he’d once led during the war, and they call themselves the Secret Six. The War Department believes there’s a connection between the rise of Adolf Hitler and money flowing into Germany. The Justice Department points to the staggering profits made by gangsters.
The Spyglass Project takes the Secret Six into Chicago’s criminal underworld. Among Michael’s cache of secret weapons, a beautiful Italian woman linked to the Mafia and the double-agent he blames for his brother’s death. Michael won’t rest until he wins the fight on America’s soil and finds the truth he craves.
Advance Praise
“No matter what genre you work in from “The Magnificent Seven” to Mission: Impossible” you take a leader who calls together a special group to perform an impossible task and you have got yourself an exciting story. Once you add in that is an espionage thriller set against the backdrop of The Roaring Twenties Chicago in between the two World Wars and you have successfully achieved orbit. “The Spyglass Project” is a wild ride filled with vivid detail. Mr. Astuto has given us a very exciting thriller.”
