This is a great book! Just when you think you know what is going to happen, the author switches paths and takes you in another direction. I really hope the author writes more books....even another that would follow the main character's life. I'd really like to find out what happens to her. I recommend this book highly!

The author had me in the hills of West Virginia experiencing the sounds, smells, colors, and loss of young innocence in a most descriptive way. I literally felt as though I was one of the sisters, experiencing their bond, fears, loss, and terrors. A carefree childhood torn away with so many viscious twists & turns. I never, ever, would have guessed the ending! I HIGHLY recommend this book to all who love to "live" with the characters, which the author makes effortless for we readers to do. A BRILLIANT first book by D L Dunaway which has this reader anxious for many more to come! *****!
