Description
Rhyming stanzas welcomes you to experience a new culture. As you step in, lively illustrations will navigate you through a story, which is about a small village - Vikasnagar and its oldest and most respected resident BARAGAD - a humungous tree! Bargad is a friendly stage for everyone including the kids and is part of the families and their traditions.
But "Changing times changed the tide and even Vikasnagar could not hide. " Tale deepens into inevitable progression of Vikasnagar -
"....As a new city was underway and old traditions were cast away. "
Now urbanization is eyeing BARGAD - "With no fruits or flower he is just a load. "
What if a bulldozer comes to disturb Bargad's compusure? Will BARGAD prevail? Who can save him? Will BARGAD find a place in our modern lives?
You will have fun while learning to love, respect and care!
Illustrations are beautifully crafted demonstrating flow in an Indian setting
Advance Praise

And yourselves!,July 18, 2013By A Desi Mom - See all my reviewsThis review is from: Bargad(Hindi) (Hindi Edition) (Paperback)This book is a wonderfully written and beautifully illustrated simple story of the Bargad tree. I love that I could read it to my two year old, and explain it to him, and I can continue to read it to him as he grows. A great book for our collection. To be completely honest, the adults in our house love reading it, too!Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? Yes NoReport abuse | PermalinkComment Comment

Our kids absolutely loved this book while reading. The simple but detailed Hindi narration with catchy and colorful illustration made the kids to focus on the summary of the book. Marketing Plan
Author Profiles: We, Subhash and Sujata(Illustrator), hail from India.
We migrated to US and brought along with us memories of our childhood. Now that we are parents, we crave to introduce our kid to the culture and values from our upbringing. It gets challenging to teach something while you are in midst of adjusting to a different culture yourselves.
We both work in different disciplines, have different styles, different backgrounds but it is the upbringing of our son that brings us on the same page. That exact place where we meet, is being captured and reflected in our stories. Where I can express in words she can illustrate them beautifully, Where I put it in black on white, She adds color to it. You get the idea!
These story is our attempt to share a glimpse of our childhood days with our son. He is our inspiration to write short stories which have meaning to them and provide teaching in some shape or form.
Q&A & interviews
What is BARGAD: Bargad is a Banyan tree and is Indian national tree. They are known to have long life span and they grow to be huge some spread across acres of land.
Why BARGAD: Bargad can be seen everywhere in India be it cross town, in middle of square, in front of temple just about anywhere. Its benefits and reason for being is hard to understand. Probably because of that very reason there are quite a few fairy tale, stories and religious belief surrounding Bargad. We thought if we have to teach compassion, love and care what better channel than Bargad? At the same time picking up on a subtle theme which just about gives a glimpse on thinking of a different culture seemed perfect for us.
