While this book wasn't super interesting to me, I think that there will be a good number of young kids that will absolutely adore this book. There is a ton of fun information throughout this book that will fascinate young readers. The best thing is all of the information is very relevant. There wasn't one piece of information that felt off-topic, even just a little bit. It was a very good choice on the author's part to include a glossary and index at the end of the book, so that kids can learn more words and terms that they might not know. The next great thing was that the author was considerate and included information on when and how to visit Yellowstone, which is perfect because it allows kids to get involved with activities based on what they're reading. Lastly, the images included with captions were super helpful to the reading/learning experience, and I even learned some things!
Kids will love this!

This is a good starting point for those about to visit the park for the very first time or simply curious. While it doesn't go into great detail, it hits the basics in a straight-forward, succinct way, offering enough to whet the interest. Full of Yellowstone history and facts, the target audience, young readers, should find it a satisfactory read. Since we read about park visitors failing to respect bison all too frequently, I note it includes info on minimum suggested distances you should allow between you and bison, not to mention bears,

What can you expect to find in this book? The table of contents let's you know up front that it'll be hitting the basics, the sites and info that most would consider of interest. I liked that the author not only included a glossary but that each word there is in bold print the first time it is used in the narrative. There are also some fun, old maps included. The park became our oldest national park after being established as such on March 1, 1873. There is also a resource list at the end, albeit short, including books and websites, as well as an index. In other words, a reasonably short narrative with organization aids and a straight-forward narrative.

Bottom line, a good starting point to learn more about this amazing park. If you're looking for basics, it'll prove a handy resource. You'll like the presentation of facts on one page, then a photo related to those facts on the next, not to mention usually additional information. Thanks #NetGalley and #RosenPublishingGroup - #EnslowPublishing for sharing this handy little resource book. While it was a bit too limited for me, I can see it making a great resource to teachers and students wanting to learn more about our oldest national park. I'd think it'd be a great initial guide for those planning a first visit to the park, or maybe still just dreaming of visiting, too.

This was a fun and educational book to read with my young son. He loves learning about the national parks, so book was a must read for us. The illustrations were cute and colorful. The text was engaging. I enjoyed the way the book was broken down into easy to understand sections. My son is now begging me to take him to Yellowstone!

I requested a copy of this book because we are hoping to take a trip to Yellowstone soon. This was perfect!

I learned a lot myself as reading this to my 2 and 5 year old. I had no idea about how many geysers there were in Yellowstone or that the lower falls was larger than Niagra. They are now very excited to see its natural beauty.

As for the illustrations.. perfection. There is a mix between cartoonish looking blurbs and actual photos keeping my littles entertained and excited to read each fact within the blurb boxes.

All together, this is a very informative and fun read. I will be purchasing.

Thank you NetGalley, Kathryn Walton, and Enslow Publishing for allowing me to review.

I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Visit Yellowstone National Park by Kathryn Walton is such a fun, informative, and beautiful book! Even as an adult it truly taught me so much about America’s first national park. It touches on subjects for everyone such as the history, flora, fauna, all while having colorful illustrations & photographs. This book is great for children as it explores many topics that touch base with school curriculum as well as just being overall fun and interesting. It introduces new vocabulary which is all defined at the back for the children to learn the definitions. This is a wonderful book and I look forward to reading the other national park books in this series!

Welcome to Yellowstone National Park, the oldest park in the United States. Read about the park’s history, unique landscape, and even the plants and animals that live there. This is a cute introduction to the park for any young learner or adventurer. It hits all of the highlights of the park with pictures and text that are very approachable for kids. It’s definitely an upgrade from the vintage national parks books that are sitting on my shelf, and I expect that kids will be much more likely to check this one out, too.

Visit Yellowstone National Park is a children's book that was written to introduce kids to Yellowstone and National Park history. Any family planning a trip to see the historic geysers, buffalo, and other gems found inside the park boundaries would find this a great book. The illustrations are engaging and the text is simple but covers all the basics about the park. There's some history of the national park system, a lot about the wildlife (buffalo are not fuzzy cows), and some good illustrations explaining the geothermic activity that is on display. I'd put this in the hands of any child who loves nature and any parent planning a trip to Yellowstone.

This is one of a series of small books with facts and fun about specific US National Parks. Cleverly done. Excellent source to enhance a trip with its pictures and graphics.
The illustrations and simple charts are clear, easily understood, imaginative, colorful, and fun.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to EVERYONE, but especially to a school, hospital, or your local public library!
I requested and received a free temporary EARC on Adobe Digital Editions from Rosen Publishing Group | Enslow Publishing via NetGalley. Thank you!
