This book gave me a very amazing experience. I really liked it I haven't really read the first book, I wasn't really aware that there was a first one, but I wasn't lost with this book. I find it really interesting. The thought of living your life after death. It was a very good world building, it was actually very believable.
Sure it talked about God and Bible verses, nevertheless, it still got the Paranormal/ Paranormal Romance touch to it.
I also liked the characters, especially Conner. I love witty characters who throws funny lines. I felt Olga's confusion and was quite confused myself as to who I want Olga to end up with.
4 of 5 stars to 18 truths! Highly recommended!
I had mixed thoughts and feelings on this book. I didn't know what I was going to rate this in the end as I just didn't know what to think.
I liked the storyline. I like anything to do with angels, Heaven and devils. The idea that there is a purgatory is fascinating, and having a couple of characters be spirit guides made it interesting.
I think one thing I wasn't sure about was the main protagonist Olga. She comes across as innocent and has deep feelings for Conner. She also regrets what happened around his death and she wants to do right. To me I felt like she was so messed up in her head over her feelings for different characters that I ended up disliking her. You either like someone or you don't in my opinion. You can't say you love someone, then say you like another. It just comes across as wrong.
Nate was a character I also didn't like. He seems like a jerk and I just don't believe anything he says.
Unfortunately I didn't connect with any of the main characters.
The beginning of the book was good. It had a lot of promise. But the ending of the book just had me wondering what I thought about the book in general. I did like it, but didn't love it.
There was always something keeping my interest in the book though.
The writing is good and easy to understand and the chapters have a decent length.
Overall I gave this book four stars. If you like what happens in the afterlife, then I think you should give this a try. Unfortunately this book just wasn't for me.
First off, I need to discuss her name. Olga Gay Worontzoff, what an unfortunate name in the twenty-first century. It was creative, but wow… I would probably change my name.
I really liked that Olga, Conner, and Nate were dorks. I love stories when the mains are dorky. But throughout the story, they’d quote Star Wars. And with me being a super geek, I would squeal and automatically know the reference. So points for that.
One thing that I found odd was that some of the chapters had a quote before them, but others didn’t. It was like the author couldn’t find enough quotes or they forgot to find quotes. It wasn’t consistent.
Overall, this was a great book. The front cover was very interesting. I know you’re not supposed to judge a book by it’s cover, but I normally do. And I wanted to read this book based on its interesting cover, so I’m glad I do. I recommend this book to everyone. It gives a different look on (after) life. I really loved it, and I hope you do to. Also, may the force be with you as you enjoy this book.
The book was very good and a fast read for me. I can't wait to read the second book.
