The author skillfully balances humor and suspense, keeping young readers entertained while delivering a reassuring message about facing fears and the power of friendship.
I was unable to see the illustrations adequately on my kindle so unfortunately I can't review this aspect of the book, however, even with the absence of illustrations "Whoosh Whoosh Monster" would make an excellent addition to any child's bookshelf. It’s a perfect bedtime story that not only entertains but also helps children navigate their own fears with courage and the support of friends. Highly recommended for young readers and their families!

Twins Flo and Ludovic are having their first sleepover. They are very excited; Sybil, Clovis, and Lou are there. All goes well until it is time to go to bed and Dad turns off the light. Everyone is snug in their coverlet except Ludovic. It is dark. It is scary. He has a secret. He’s afraid of the dark. While the other children drift off to sleep warm and cozy Ludovic is afraid. He hides his head under his coverlet with dogs printed all over it. He peeks out from under his cover when he hears a noise. A dog named Dude and his friends come to life. Flo and a friend hear something strange. They climb to the top bunk and are shocked to see the dogs helping Ludovic overcome his fears. The dogs stand guard over the children all night long. Flo and one of her friends hear a strange noise and climb to the top bunk where Ludovic is laying. They are surprised to see all the dogs standing guardl they are helping Ludovic overcome his fears. Ludovic feels better knowing Dude is watching over him.
What a delightful children’s book. It will appeal to children. It demonstrates the excitement of a child’s first sleepover and the apprehension. Often a children will fear embarrassing themselves in front of their friends. Many children are afraid of the dark. This book is entertaining, fun and has a nice message.
