Description
Jaykriss is fourteen. He’s bored with school, the girl he loves doesn’t know he’s alive, and his father, Glyndich the Great, is dead.
Jaykriss’s life is a mess.
When the Thrax, a fearsome dragon, thundered back into the Godswood after many decades, Glyndich was called upon to defend his people. But even the powerful Glyndich was no match for the ferocious dragon—and when he died, the legendary Bloodsword, a family heirloom, was lost forever. Now, Jaykriss, his mother and his sister are forced to face life without Glyndich. And it’s a hard life, with constant threats from the half-human Geshans, the cunning High Priest Harros, and the Thrax itself.
But one day changes all that.
On a routine hunting trip, Jaykriss and his best friend Marda are attacked by the Thrax itself. They seek refuge in a cave and there they meet Zamarcus, a hermit hiding from the evil Dark King. Zamarcus, whose home is filled with innumerable relics from the ancient times, helps Jaykriss to understand that all is not as it seems in his troubled world. Ultimately, through a journey that takes him to the mysterious Dead City and beyond, Jaykriss realizes that he must confront his fears—dragons and all--to fulfill his true destiny.
Author Mark Murphy (The Shadow Man) lives in Savannah, Georgia with his wife and a menagerie of semi-wild animals—but no dragons. At least, not yet.
The Curse of the Thrax is the first volume of the Trilogy.
