Description

Mog is a daring cat who loves trying new things. Tom is more of a homebody and a sloth. It is rare to see him anywhere other than lying on the soft, red sofa. One chilly afternoon, Mog has an idea. She draws a map and convinces Tom to go on an adventure.

Mog and Tom is a charming children’s story in the Humorous Healing Anagrams series using words that are anagrams of the phrase “stomach flu” and other connected words and phrases. These two cats will warm your heart as they take your mind off your problem, allowing you to focus on something different. You’ll find that sometimes the best adventures are the ones where you don’t know where you will end up.

At the end of the book is a list of the anagram words used to create this story. Children are encouraged to write their own fun stories using this list of words.

I enjoyed reading about the adventure Mog and Tom went on! Mog had a plan and made sure they went through with it to complete the mission, even if that meant coming across a few bumps along the way!

Mog and Tom is a uniquely different children's book compared to most. Leila Summers illustrates the wonderful journey of two cats. One cat has an adventurous side, and the other likes to play it safe at home. Leila Summers uses Anagrams to illustrate and captivate the heart of the reader and proves that you really can make up a whole story with just a few words. Mog and Tom challenges its readers to see where a story with Anagrams will take them.

Mog and Tom was a fun little story about an adventurous cat who wants to go to Mars because it seems warm. Her friend Tom agrees to go with her so she is not alone. After a mishap or two they end up having an adventure with a sweet message. It was a cozy little story. I enjoyed. My son loved that cats wanted to go to space and sat still for the whole story, which is rare.
I love the whole healing anagrams backstory as well. The ebook version also worked great perfectly on my kindle, which is not how it usually goes for an illustrated storybook! Makes it easy to travel with less physical books when they are easy to read on the kindle!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this storybook.

Extremely cute book! It perfectly shows that it doesn’t matter where you are to create amazing memories as long as it is with the people you love. They will always have your back and push you towards your dreams

"Mog and Tom" is a story about two opposite cats living together. One day Mog wants to go to Mars, thinking it's warm and Tom joins her.
The adventure doesn't go as planned at all but Mog enjoyed the adventure as such and the unexpected most and Tom agrees with her.

The story on its own is cute and the two main characters, the cats Mog and Tom, were adorable and likeable.
I spent some time looking for the anagrams and that felt confusing while reading but other than that, it was an enjoyable read about adventures. Children will have fun with this book

A cute story that follows two cats, one adventurous and one not so much.
Mog just wants to visit the moon, and Tom goes along to keep her company.
I found the use of anagrams of the phrase 'stomach flu' a little hard to read, but the story overall was enjoyable and wholesome.

This was a fun book with a bit of adventure and great imagery! Perfect for little interested in animals and space! I was just a bit confused on the whole anagrams thing - I don't know, but I just expected more of that in the book after the foreword?

I wanted to read this book because my daughters loves cats and this book is about cats. This was a cute story of two cat friends going on an adventure even though one of them doesn't like adventures. They learn that trying new things is fun but also staying home is fun. My daughter was entertained throughout this whole book.
We would recommend it.

Thank you to Netgalley and Poppy Oak Press for the copy.

The adventurer gets an idea to go to mars with the homebody friend to keep company. They learn a few things along the way and await the next bright idea. The story is entertaining and the artwork is engaging, but sharing the anagram story principles is beyond me.
I requested and received a free temporary EARC from BooksGoSocial via NetGalley.

What a cute book with anagrams! The story was very sweet. We are a cat household so my son and I love books with cats! Loved the adventure they went on and the friends they met along the way!

This is a story about two very different cats who embark on an adventure together. As a cat lover, I found the story absolutely adorable. The illustrations are wonderfully sweet, and the animals make the tale even more delightful!

Cats Mog and Tom are good friends who live together in a cottage by the sea. Tom is a homebody who enjoys relaxing on his soft, red sofa in the sun, whereas Mog is a daredevil who enjoys adventures. One chilly evening, Mog has an idea to visit Mars because she has read books about the planet and loves the colour red. So, she creates a map of her journey and persuades Tom to accompany her. Their first stop is to meet Ed, a famous cat who will be able to get them to Mars using his custom atom ramp to turn them into spacecats. However, their journey to Mars does not go as planned, and along the way, they meet new friends who help them find their way back home. They realise that some of the most unique adventures in life happen when you lose your way and do not know what you might see.

This is a beautiful story of friendship and adventure with gorgeous, bright illustrations.

The author uses anagrams throughout this book, and at the end, she lists the words used throughout the story.

I recommend this story for children aged between 5 and 8.

An amusing story about two cats who go on an adventure. This is an interesting concept to use anagrams to shift focus from an issue to a fun activity, and the pictures are cute. The cats have very different personalities but are still very good friends, which is a lovely lesson for kids. Thank you to NetGalley/the publisher/author for this eARC.

A cute little story about two cats who want's to go to Mars. The illustrations are beautiful, not the ordinary style but never the less very nice. It felt a little short. The anagram part was ignored by my part.

I really enjoyed reading this story about Mog and Tom and the adventure that they went on.

The book is well written and the story has a great flow to it - it was an addictive read and my daughter really enjoyed it.

There were a few bumps along the way in the mission but they conquer these and it made the book enjoyable and positive.

The illustrations in the book are great and they bring the book to life, they really suit the wording used.

It is 4 stars from me for this one - highly recommended!

I was asked to read and review this little gem of a story. It is about cats so OF COURSE I said "Sign me up".

Mog is daring. Tom is a homebody. They are best friends, but oh so different. One chilly afternoon, Mog has an idea. She convinces Tom to go on an adventure with her. He reluctantly agrees, but doesn't want Mog alone out in the big world.

This was so utterly adorable. I loved Tom and Mog. They are too cute!!!! I loved how different they were but how much they loved each other. So very sweet.

The animation was cute and the story was sweet.

Honestly, this should be a print. I don't think kids would enjoy this as much...plus I think it would bring the art to life.

I loved the messages this conveyed.

However, I didn't fully get the anagram thing at first. I read some reviews and etc and then went back. Okay....I see it but I don't think it's necessary at all. I just enjoyed the story, the cats, and the art. Maybe I am missing the point.

Minus the whole anagram thing, I found this delightful and cute. I would read this to a little one.

4 stars.

ONE WORD SUMMARY: Adorable
