The Evergreen Candy Company is a small-town Alaskan tradition, run by Jovi Wright’s family for decades. But with her grandparents no longer at the helm, Jovi’s parents are considering selling. Determined not to let that happen, Jovi hops a plane back to her hometown. Her plan: launch Grammie’s salted caramel chews as a new product that will save the company. But with Grammie’s memory fading and the recipe missing, Jovi has her work cut out for her.

Still reeling from being jilted by her fiancé, Jovi welcomes the distraction of trying to re-create the recipe from scratch. True, the trip is off to a rocky start when her flight is canceled and she has to car-share with a grumpy and mysterious author seeking a fresh start, but Burke Solomon’s little girl is adorable. And the recently widowed man needs help adjusting to Evergreen, whether he’ll admit it or not.

With a looming deadline and the stresses of single parenthood, the last thing Burke needs is a bright-eyed optimist like Jovi to disrupt his life.
