Known But Unknown

It is winter in D.C. and Covid has shuttered the city. When a friend offers Leyla James an apartment in sunny Florida, she packs her belongings and law files in her car and escapes to a happier and warmer place for a six month respite. But she’s barely unpacked in paradise when she discovers the body of a young woman on a nature trail. Although Leyla has vowed to her partner to curb her instinct to investigate and right wrongs, she’s shocked to realize that this young woman has faked her identity and her family may never learn of her fate. When the local police chief, who’s without adequate staff, learns of her background as an investigator, Leyla is coerced into getting involved in the mystery of Jane Doe’s murder and ultimately risking her own life.
