Description
The old gods aren’t gone. Whether you know it or not, they’re closer than a breath upon your cheek.
Alexander Sekhmet keeps to himself, far from the Machiavellian games played by his Family, and as a result he’s led a quiet, ordered life—until now.
When his legendary temper is exploited by an ancient enemy, tricking him into destroying his human identity, he takes drastic steps to protect his empire. He possesses the body of Camilla Sykes, a West Point lieutenant, and takes her identity, memory, and soul with him.
Alexander’s duties are complicated by Camilla’s angry voice and iron will lurking in his mind. Now he must find and deal with his enemy, before he himself is destroyed and the truce between the gods is torn to pieces.
When gods and mortals meet, the Apocalypse follows.
Eye of the Storm, book 1 in the Deus ex Familia Quartet.
A Note From the Publisher
As a lifelong reader and writer in the science fiction and fantasy genres, Kuzenski has made the community a second home. She is the author of Eye of the Storm (Bookmen Media Group, September 2013). This new book is the first installment of the Deus ex Familia series, a new fantasy series about the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse set in the modern world. Kuzenski uses her experience in Filipino Martial Arts to add authenticity and realism to her depiction of the god of War in the tale of Alexander Sekhmet.
Kuzenski is a frequent participant at conventions and a dedicated panelist and contributing member of an Online SF Writer’s Group including acting as MC for the CONVergence masquerade for its first few years. She got her degree in theater in 1995, and later, she went to the University of Minnesota for Electrical Engineering training. The final outcome seems to be a blending of the two extremely different disciplines.
