Amazing Magic Tricks is a great guide to beginner tricks for kids interested in magic. My six year old daughter found the illustrated instructions easy to follow and enjoyed showing off her new talent to friends and family.
A simply illustrated and explained book of magic tricks for children. Perhaps it is the teacher in me, but occasionally, I wanted more detailed illustrations and supply lists at the start. But this would be a fine book for young beginning magicians if you don't already have one in your library.
Amazing Magic Tricks by Thomas Canavan is an awesome book of magic for children. It has wonderful, vibrant pictures. Magic Tricks/ Science experiments for those kids who can read and understand simple logic problems. My 11 year old boy would love this book and I think my 9 year old little girl would like it too. My 6 year old would love watching his brother or sister perform the tricks. I received a free copy of this book in return for my honest opinion.
√ Fun and Easy Magic!
This book is designed so that the beginner magician can get started right away on dozens of fun and easy tricks. They are designed to use very simple, around-the-house type of props. Things such as cups, pens, playing cards, rabbits, etc. (Well, okay, you don't really need a rabbit.) My favorite trick was under the "Comedy Magic" section. In the "Wrong Card" trick, the magician can't seem to find the right card, then finally stomps on the bag in disgust. Lo and behold, the right card is stick on the bottom of his shoe! How did he do it? Magic!
This book is divided into the following main sections:
COMEDY MAGIC MAGICAL ESCAPES MAGICAL ILLUSIONS BRAIN GAMES and NUMBER MAGIC
Of course, the beginning magician must sign the Magician's Pledge--to NOT reveal any of these secrets!
► WHY YOU SHOULD BUY THIS BOOK ◄
If you know a youngster who would like to become a magician, this is the book for you!
► TOP 3 THINGS I LIKED ◄
♦ Very clear, step-by-step instructions, including practice and technique tips, so that the whole performance will go flawlessly.
♦ Really well-done illustrations. I liked the rabbit best.
♦ I liked the special "Magic Tip" on each trick that gave special help on performing the trick properly. For example, on the rising pen trick, it's important to choose a pen with a tight clip, in order for the trick to go off well.

Amazing Magic Tricks By: David Mostyn
As most children my two boys absolutely love magic! Honestly who doesn't? Even as an adult I still can appreciate a good magic trick. When I received the free digital copy of this book in exchange for my review I was sure my children were going to be thrilled, guess what, I was right!
The book has several different areas such as table tricks, brain games, number magic, comedy magic, etc. Each area then has several different tricks that go into detail on how they should be done. Since the book comes alone you will have to provide your own items to make the magic happen, these items include but are not limited to pens, pitchers, hats, water, pepper, ice, string, and most other items you can normally find around the house. From my experience and knowledge I don't remember there being anything special I needed to go out and buy for them to do any of the magic tricks.
Although many of the tricks are very basic they are still great, especially for children. They're made easy enough for anyone to pull off but still hard enough that you may have to practice at least once or twice before attempting in front of others. There were a few classic tricks and others I had never seen or heard of before. The variety was wide ranged and very nice.
For children, I would say this book was a winner! For adults, even beginners, in my opinion I would say you may become board quickly but that's not to say you wouldn't learn a new trick or two before doing so. All in all a good book with hours of fun included!!
