BLOG TOUR REVIEW

Review for 'A Murder Of Hate' by Yasin Kakande.

This is the first book I have read by this author but it definitely won't be my last!! It is also the first book in Yasin's 'The General's Project' series and an absolutely fantastic and explosive start to a series it is!

This book discusses some topics that may upset some readers or may not be suitable for others. I like to point this out ahead of time in my reviews so you can judge if this book is for you or not. In this book Yasin Kakande discusses/includes depictions of murder, sexual violence, kidnappings, torture, racism and graphic language.

I will start by saying that this isn't my usual choice of book so I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the storyline but I was looking forward to trying it out and I am very pleased to say I did as I thoroughly enjoyed reading it!! The storyline is unique, fast paced, action packed and Yasin's fantastic and evocative writing skills and descriptions take you on an action packed adventure. In this book Yasin transports the readers to Acton where the body of a woman is discovered in a car on State Route 2 by Samuel Mugyenyi. The victim is identified as Sheila Musinga who is a media student from Uganda and is the daughter of Bernard Musinga whose brother is the president of Uganda. We are then taken to Boston where Detective Lisa Garcia arrests Shawn Wayles who is believed to have been Sheila's brother. Lisa is partnered up with Detective Basudde Erias who is more commonly known as "Bus" for the investigation into Sheila's murder as Bus and Sheila both have ties to Uganda. Lisa and Bus start digging into the victim, her family and their murder suspect Shawn. As always with any new partnership there is some friction between the Detectives but they are both determined to get justice for Sheila. The investigation gets deeper and darker as they also expose deadly ties between the Washington elites and the dictators they support. If that wasn't enough they then end up with the CIA wanting to take over the case!! Why is the CIA determined to take over? What secrets will Lisa and Bus discover? Grab your copy of this absolutely action packed crime thriller to find out for yourselves and I promise you will not regret it!! With a storyline ram packed with action, crime, murder, mystery, suspense, politics, family, power, dictatorship, tension and more what are you waiting for? Yasin does an absolutely incredible job of weaving this explosive storyline through the perspectives of multiple protagonists while also taking us around the world. I love the fact that we get to see what is going on from so many perspectives including from Detective Lisa Garcia, Detective Bus Erias as well as our suspect Shawn Wayles where we get to see his interactions and what happened between him and our victim Sheila Musinga. It is not often that we get to see what is going on from the perspective of suspects in books so I really enjoyed this unique touch to the book. It is getting more difficult to find something unique when reading books due to the amount of crime books I have read so congratulations Yasin! His vivid evocative and emotive descriptions ensures that the reader feels like they are next to each of the characters throughout the book so you can see, feel and hear what each are feeling, seeing and hearing whether they are in the present timeline of the book or discussing the pasts. Yasin ensures you see the many different locations, the characters, the action and everything unfold in front your eyes. It is such a gripping storyline that once I had started I struggled to put it down and ended up devouring it in just two sittings as I found myself addicted and needing to know what would happen next. I am most definitely looking forward to reading the next book in this series .

An absolutely action packed and unique book and an explosive start to a promising new series!! Yasin has an absolutely fantastic imagination and he ensures the reader sees it all come to life!!

I wasn't only invested in the storyline but also the characters. Yasin does a fantastic job of building each of the characters up in the storyline ensuring that they are all realistic and unique. They all have their own flaws, quirks, strengths and weaknesses and I enjoyed discovering more about each of them as the pages flew by. There was a great variety of characters and as I previously stated I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that we got to see things from Shawn's perspectives especially when he was talking about his past. there were also other characters pasts that we got to learn about and I enjoyed reading about but I wont say more about that as i do not want to spoil it for future readers. Regardless of how you feel about any of the characters each and every one had a part to play and they each played in perfectly. If you enjoy books that include action, crime, suspense, drama, adventure or are just looking for an action packed crime thriller then grab your copy today!!!!

Congratulations Yasin on an absolutely gripping crime thriller. I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book in this series!!!

Overall an action packed crime thriller that will keep you hooked.
